You want him, you need him

Summary:

When John dies, Bobby thinks the world should stop just the way John's heart did. It doesn't. Paul keeps getting out of bed in the mornings even when it looks like he shouldn't. Bobby keeps smiling when adults look at him because it makes them less worried and keeps away their prying questions.
At eleven years old, Bobby doesn't have words for what's happening to him. He only knows the flat feels wrong without John in it, Paul cries when he thinks nobody can hear, and some mornings it feels easier to imagine being dead than attempting to live in a world where John Lennon is dead.

Notes:

to clear any confusion

John adopted the boy in this (Bobby)
They live in a flat with Paul as well
and i know john actually died in 1980 but he dies in 1965 here
any in real life existing outside relationships marriages or children don't apply here

also sorry its short but its supposed to be a diary entry

Chapter Text

John died 3 days ago.

Nobody says "died" apart from me. The reporters say "passed away" and George and Rich say "gone" and Paul doesn't say much at all. There are people outside all the time now. Crying girls and cameras and men shouting questions. I hate all of them. They're acting like they're the only sad ones, and that's not fair cos I'm sad too.

Paul stayed in bed until 4 o clock today. He told me to eat something but he didn't eat anything himself. He just stared at the sandwich I tried to make for him and drank whisky until he was sick all on the carpet. I'm scared for him, he's eaten nothing more than a biscuit these past few days.

Sometimes I think if I got very sick I would die too and I could see John again.
