Work Text:

my little boy
sneaking off into sweet and sinful mornings
your lips of pink and purple open and wide
as you pick off your youth
squeezing it out into your hand - white and strong and musky - your father's shaving cream
scruffing your shoes and falling into mud
the scrapes on your knees make you happy
your hands of soft and gentle leather
as you hold and punch and hug
boiling fury from your father's mouth ricochets
your kind and violent eyes knaw your skin
as you grin at your bruises and scars

my dear little boy,
you who was born in the winds of frost fogs
you who was laughing ferociously in the light
you who was howling and yawping in dark
you who was making dreams of mud potions
you who was killed laying down for your friend and your father
you who died knocking your head, etching on your wrist and striking your cheeks
you who cried trying to make a river of your blood and a sanctuary for others' hearts
you who lived through it all
you who is alive

oh, good kit,
live and breathe each moment you can
and let the green and blue and brown and yellow and pink and purple love inside of you
love them and you too
