Chapter Text
Avery loved and hated spring. He hated how his allergies would get, how his nose would clog up! It sucked, he hated the feeling of not being able to breathe out of his nose! He hated the feeling of his throat being dry no matter how much water he drank!
Avery was currently lying in bed, tissue box on his night stand along with a lukewarm glass of water. He had made Derek go get him medicine as he was feeling like shit. How long had he just been laying here? How long had Derek been gone? He missed him… geez that sounded pathetic. He probably looked pathetic too. He feels like a puddle of…something. Slime maybe..heh.. kinda like his minecraft skin. He chuckled to himself even though that was kinda stupid.
Avery sat in silence after that. Listening to the clock tick. It was quite annoying after a while. Why did he have one of those? Oh right.. Derek had gotten it. Speaking of Derek, Avery heard the front door creak open! Which means Derek was finally home, with his medicine! Avery tried to get up but failed. His limbs felt like jelly, and he fell back onto the pillows with a pained whimper, his ears pinned back.
It seemed like Derek had heard his whimpering cause he came rushing in clearly concerned. “Avery!” Derek said, rushing over to Avery already checking his body to see if there were any visible wounds. “Are you good?” Derek asked, still a little concerned even after seeing that there weren't any visible injuries.
Avery was a little shocked at Derek's fretting. He nodded at Derek's question, unable to get the words out as he was flustered by him and Derek's proximity. Not that he was complaining!
Derek stared into Avery's eyes as if trying to decipher if Avery was lying. Before standing up, ruining the closeness they had. “I'm glad, I thought you were hurt.” Derek sighed out, before continuing. “I'm going to get you that medicine, I left it on the kitchen table, and ill get you a wet rag. You are burning up. I will be quick.” Derek said with a matter of fact tone, before promptly leaving the room.
Avery, left alone in the room, had a lovesick smile on his face, it was like he could still feel the feeling of Derek's hands on him. The warm feeling lingering.. Avery then shook his head realizing what he was thinking. Quickly regretting that action though as his head started to pound. Ugh.. this being sick thing sucked. His chest constantly felt tight. But thankfully this was just a fever! It will be over…eventually.
