George's dream was to win the WDC ever since he accepted to be a Williams driver in 2019. People told him he was a high potential driver, that he's going to win the WDC in very soon future.
It looked like that, he was practicing, doing his best to be someone Toto can be proud of, that he's actually worth something. He needed to prove he's actually good, people Called him names, telling him he's wasting his time on practicing.
It was his time to prove people wrong, to stop the rumors about him, to prove both Toto and people he's not the person everyone told him he is.
Carrying the team in 2025. made him hungry for the Champion. Lando already got one in McLaren, why can't he get one in Mercedes? What's stoping him for doing that?
Kimi can't be a big deal, he's still too young for this, he has future in front of him, meanwhile George didn't have much time to deserve his WDC. George was proven wrong really fast. They've been dating since the winter break, he couldn't imagine someone he loved the most would be his biggest enemy.
First race was easy win for George, ever since that people told him he is winning, even Kimi, he knew he was young, that he has no chance against him.
After Kimi's first win in China, George felt a warm feeling in his chest, it was the First win for his love, it was a special moment. The youngest F1 winner, he can't do anything but to celebarate it, he was still the leader, the one people trusted the most.
Japan was the moment that changed both of them. The problems with George's car made people mad at him, he can't complain in a fast car, it's something people said to George. The pressure was put into George after this race, people Calling him "washed" and "Bitch", because of basic human emotions.
He was on the same level as Lando now, hated by the community, Kimi is the leader now, no one likes "washed" drivers that cannot beat their 19 year old boyfriend.
"What am I doing wrong? What's wrong with me? " the question that crossed George's mind so many times after the Japan Grand Prix. This can't be real, he was supposed to be the one people love, not hate.
Maybe it was just a bad weekend, everyone has their bad moments, it'll change in Miami. Nothing, he was still the washed loser, the one who can't beat someone way younger than him, but that wasn't just a regular person, that was his boyfriend Kimi, the one who told him he's be the Next Champion.
Kimi did try to comfort him after Miami, to Tell him what Russell wanted to hear, Nothing else.
"Don't worry George, in my eyes You're still a Champion, don't listen to other people, they don't know... "
"No need for comfort, I know You're better than me, I'm nothing more than a Complete idiot! You're only saying this because you need to! Celebarate with other people, not me, leave me Alone for now! " George was crying, tears running down his face, this was his fault, at least in his eyes.
Canada is the race where he can prove people wrong, to stop the rumors about him. He won the sprint race, got the pole postion, but something changed.
Kimi was now hungry for win, for the WDC, he didn't play about this, he was ready to DNF Himself and George so George can't score any points. He was aggressive towards George, he was the opponent now, they still dated, but only outside racing.
Inside racing they were rivals, they hated each other's guts. Both of them Desperate for wins, that was the way they can prove world other side of themselfs.
George needed to prove he was better than Kimi, that he Isn't just a washed driver. That he can do it, he can win, he can win the WDC.
Kimi needed to prove he wasn't just a young child, that he was ready for such a big reward like WDC. He was already the fan favorite, the Golden boy of Mercedes, while that was supposed to be George, not him, he's the future of Mercedes, not the present.
Their realthionship became complicated, do they still love each other? They don't even know themselfs, Maybe Yes maybe not. That's Going to be decided after Grand Prix.
The fight for the win started way too early, George didn't want to let Kimi pass, he tried his best to stay away from him. It worked, until his car decided to stop, in the Middle of the race.
"No! This can't be! " George was shocked at first, thinking maybe it was just a mistake, not something serious, but sadly, his car was broken, he got DNF.
He showed the anger right away, Last year he dominated this race, he won, but now, he was on the same boat as other drivers who got the DNF that race. His heart broke, this was Kimi's 4th win, and this was his 3rd time without a podium. Why? Just why? He tried to talk to both Lando and Albon about this, he can't relax, he knew what was coming.
"I can't believe this happened! Fuck this sport! Fuck everything, I don't want this, I'm not useless, I'm still a Good driver, right? "
"George, you know what I'm going to say about you, we've been Friends since forever... " Alex said with voice full of guilt, he didn't want to hurt George, but honesty is something George wanted in that moment.
"Alex, you can say anything! I'm not Going to be mad, I already know the answer for my question, I just needed to know do you still try to find a comfort in moments like these... "
"Listen George, I know it's not the Best situation right now, but Maybe There's still a chance? Who knows, you know what happened to Oscar last year? " Lando the Way he is, tried to find a comfort, he knows how does it feel to be in a situation like this.
"You're only saying that because that's just the type of person you are, Lando, no need for this... Please, I'm not in the mood for anything. "
"Whatever you say George, I did my best and what my soul told me to do... I appreciate you for being direct about this.... "
Lando was Going insane on the Canada weekend, he wasn't bothered by anything. He acted like A kid almost all weekend, he just let everything happen, he won the WDC last year, his Dream became true, he can just now exists in Formula 1 without any problems on his back.
Meanwhile George is having crashouts, he can't even open the Social media, he knows everything already, he's not stupid. Praise for Kimi was all over Instagram, he can't even blame people for this, they were right, Kimi is the WDC for 2026 Season, George was just there to be a second driver, nothing more...
George didn't even want to talk to Kimi about this, about the win, they were mad after the race. Kimi mocking everything George did on the track, blaming him for every little mistake on the track. This made George realise Kimi is still a 19 year old kid, at least in eyes of other people.
Kimi is sick of being potrayed as a baby who can't do anything. He can prove people he's a WDC material, he can make records after records after records, but he is still a kid for every older F1 fan. That was the jail Kimi wasn't able to escape, while George has the opposite problem, he wanted to prove to people There's still a life in him, that his potential skills didn't vanish into thin air out of nowhere.
George is emotional, which od difficult to be, especially in sport like this. He can't even show a little bit of Emotion without getting backlash because of that. He's a grown man who gets angry and sad really easy, but when Max did that suddenly that's okay? You can Never satisfy people no matter what you do.
His past was forgotten once he started losing sparks, people started acting like he Never did anything for the team. All the wins he got every podium was deleted from existence because of mistakes that were made in the last couple of races.
Were him and Kimi still together? Maybe, he's too scared to talk to him, but he needed to know. After the celebration with the team, George finally get the chance to talk to Kimi about them.
"Kimi, congrats on the win, sorry for not telling you that before, I thought you were... you know... mad at me... " George barely open his mouth, he was too scared to talk about this, especially to someone like Kimi.
"Thanks, I'm thinking am I still mad at or not... Sometimes I feel like I am, but also sometimes I'm trying to understand your side! That's not something I should do... "
"No need to be worried about me Kimi, no one is on my side anyway, You're now the golden child, I'm never going to like Lewis and I knew that. When he left Mercedes I thought it was my time to Shine, but no, you took the lead. And you deserved it, well done Kimi... I'm happy for you! " George eyes started watering, he tried his best not to throw up and cry on the floor like a baby. He stayed stong, because he can't be like that in front of Kimi.
"Thanks George, not usual from you... Our realthionship was better before and you know that, we can still be together Inside locked doors, but we can expect everything from each other on the track. Come here George, sit with me I know You're tired. "
George was laying on Kimi, crying his heart out, telling Kimi everything about this, Kimi listened, he can't act like he doesn't love Russell anymore. There's still a part of him that reminds him why are they together in the first place.
Even after all this, their realthionship stayed for now, no one knows what's going to happen in the future, but we can hope for the best only.
