The earth was safe at last. Five has worked his ass off to keep his family alive and keep the world from being destroyed. Unfortunately though the academy was destroyed and Klaus got them kicked out of the local hotels. So right now Five was driving the family car with Diego in the other car behind him. In Five’s car was Luther, Viktor, and Ben. Diego had Klaus and Allison in his car. Viktor was sitting in the passenger front seat with a map in her lap “I told you Five we could have stayed at my apartment” he said. “And I told you unless you don't want that apartment on fire then no plus its best we get a fresh start”. Five rubbed his eyes as they finally arrived at the destination, Jericho Vermont. Five soon pulled into a parking lot and turned the car off. He grabbed his wallet from the center console and got out of the car. Diego pulled in next to Five before getting out of the car with a grunt “ugh god damn im not driving for awhile” Diego said as his joints popped. “Alright then. We are not the Umbrella Academy for now, we are just the Hargreeves family. Got it?” Five said looking at everyone “um I was never apart of the umbrella academy at all” Ben said with a confused look “alrighty i'm taking that as a understanding” Five popped the trunk of the car and grabbed a suitcase which he popped open “all weapons go in” Five said putting his pocket knife and gun. Diego clutched his knife holsters “you can't be serious. What if we get attacked?” Five kept his neutral face till Diego put all his knives into the case. Five looked at the others for their weapons. Luther shook his head “Five I don't carry weapons” he said. Five rolled his eyes and everyone else gave an excuse so Five shut the suitcase and locked it before throwing it back into the trunk of the car. Luther clapped his hands together “ok so I think we can make two groups to go out and explore” he said with a smile “ooh I call Five!” Klaus said bounding over to his little brother. Diego shook his head as Luther said “I'll take Ben, Diego, and Viktor then”. Five nodded “alright then it's settled” Five looked at his watch “meet back at the cars by sunset that gives us 7 hours to explore” he explained.
After that everyone split into their groups and went off. Five, Allison, and Klaus were walking down the sidewalk of the town “god we look like the perfect family right now” Klaus commented “that could be a good excuse if anyone asks about us” Allison said putting on a pair of sunglasses. Five shook his head and kept walking, “Five look at this,” Klaus said, stopping in front of a clothing store. Five back pettled and looked at what Klaus was looking at. It was a mannequin that was wearing similar clothes like Dolores wore. Five looked down “I left her Klaus. I left her for my sanity” he said, turning away from the store. Klaus actually felt bad as he watched his brother walk away till he bumped into a girl his height. Both fell to the ground and the girl dropped her things Klaus and Allison sped walk over as both rubbed their heads. “Hey watch where you are going,” said Five getting up. The girl got up and grabbed her book and hand… wait hand? A hand climbed back onto the girl's shoulder. “You should look around a corner before you walk,” said the girl. Klaus walked forward “alright I think we got off to a bad start um this is my little br- son Five and you are?” he asked the girl. “Wednesday, Wednesday Addams” she said “and this is Thing” she pointed at the hand on her shoulder.
Five looked at the hand “so who did you murder to get the hand? And what black magic did you do to bring it to life?” he asked. Wednesday made eye contact with Five and gave him a death glare but Five gave one right back. Klaus clearly saw the tension and stepped back to Allison “is it just me or do they look almost alike?” Allison looked between the two “yea I see it. Maybe if Five was more gothy it would make more sense” she said, snapping a pic of the two secretly. “Please delete that photo as I don't like my picture taken without permission or I will use the inside of the phone to melt your insides” said Wednesday, not breaking eye contact with Five “yep similar in threats as well” Klaus commented. Allison quickly deleted the photo (not really) while Five scoffed “I don't have time to deal with you but I wish to know about Thing” he said looking at the hand. “Cafe, 10:00pm, tomorrow and I'll tell you about him in return. I want info about you. Fair trade?” Wednesday said hoisting her bag back up her shoulder. “Deal” Five said, holding his hand out which Wednesday took and shook his hand. After that Wednesday spun on her heel and walked away. Allison leaned closer to Klaus “did Five just find a date?” she asked in a whisper “I think so” Klaus whispered back.
Five glared at them before starting his walk again. Klaus and Allison walked behind him with a smile for their brother. They ended up in a park with a statue of Joseph Cracktone which Five heard over a conversation from a tourist guide. Allison and Klaus were sitting on a bench chatting about random things. Five was standing in front of the statue looking at its face “you seemed like an interesting character Joseph” he mumbled not noticing a lady in white walk up behind him “yes he is, isn't he?” she said looking at the statue “you know his story?” Five asked not to bother to look at the lady. “Joseph Crackstone was a colonist who despised those with unique traits. He has tried to kill them all off but he couldn't succeed before his death. The town thought he was a hero so they made this statue in his favor” the lady explained “im Larissa Weems, you are?” she asked. “I'm Five Hargreeves” he said, finally turning around. His heart almost skipped a beat after looking at her. She looked almost like the Handler “you look almost like The Handler” Five mumbled Larissa rolled her eyes “oh yes I get that alot as for The Handler she is my sister” she explained with a smile. Five eased up a bit “so Larissa what do you do in this town?” he asked. “I'm the principal in the local school, Nevermore Academy, I'm known as Principal Weems. What's your story Five?” Larissa asked with her head cocked to the side.
Five looked at Larissa and back to Allison and Klaus then back to Larissa “me and my family moved from home as it was destroyed and we needed a fresh start. Yada yada yada. My brother Viktor told me about Jericho and how it's a place for weird things to happen. After a ton of arguing and convincing we made our way here” he said as he put his hands in his pockets “right now i'm trying my best to give my family a good life” he said. Larissa smiled brightly “Well Five I do wish your family luck in this new life but I must-” she was cut off when someone ran by with a purse then Diego running after said person “thief!” Diego yelled while running. Five groaned and rubbed the temple of his head “and there's one of my brothers”
Diego finally caught up to the person and tackled them. He grabbed a zip tie from his pocket and arrested the man. He grabbed the purse from the ground and put it aside as a police car drove up next to the two. The police officer got out of the car and walked over “thanks for catching them but i'll take it from here” the officer said putting the thief in his car. Diego nodded and grabbed the purse that was stolen and gave it to the officer before he looked up and saw Five “oh hey Five” Diego said walking over. “Diego meet Larissa Weems, Larissa meet Diego Hargreeves” Five introduced the two to each other. Larissa held her hand out for Diego to shake which he did with a smile “nice to meet you Larissa” he said before taking his hand back and leaning towards Five “I thought we killed The Handler” he whispered. Five patted the side of Diego’s face “you sweet idiot” he sighed “where's the rest of the family?” Five asked, realizing Diego was alone. “Oh Luther and Viktor went off to find a place to sleep for the night as for Ben well he went to a library down the road” Diego supplied. “And I know what you're doing,” Five said, rubbing between his eyes. “You're really good with catching thieves aren't you Diego?” Larissa asked “um yea I spent a few years as a vigilante” Diego answered while putting his hands in his pockets.
“No ordinary man spends that much time doing that unless you have a special ability” Larissa smiled “don't be shy i've seen some unique abilities before” Diego looked over to Five who sighed “you know what sure go ahead Diego” Five went over to a discarded newspaper and teleported up onto the statue where he held the paper next to him “I know you got a knife Diego come on hit the paper” instructed Five. Diego nodded and took out a knife from his back pocket and quickly threw it where it went through the paper and back to Diego. Larissa slowly clapped “I wasn't expecting that but still unique” she praised. Five teleported back down next to Diego “yea well we don't expect everything to go the way we want” he said as Klaus and Allison walked over “hey Fivey whatcha doing?” asked Klaus who held Five by the shoulders.
Larissa looked at the two of them “I presume you're also family?” she asked with a smile. Klaus smiled as well “of course. Can't you see the resemblance” Klaus held his head next to Five’s head which clearly proved they were not. Five pushed Klaus away and brushed his suit off “anyways” Five said, giving a glare to Klaus. “So I'm gonna guess you're all new to town?” Larissa asked, looking at the four siblings with a raised eyebrow. “Yep!” Klaus said making the P pop at the end. Five facepalmed at his brother's stupidity. Larissa laughed lightly at the antics of this family “well if you so wish we can continue this conversation back at my place? You all seem like nice folks” she clearly didn't care for the obvious indications of the adopted family. Five eyed Larissa up and down as the others waited for his opinion. They trust Five and his judgment with this kind of stuff so his opinion was respected here “sure why not” he said walking forward to follow her. The others let out a sigh of relief “then please come on I have a bus waiting. Do behave though I have a few kids with me from my school” she said, turning around and walking away. The others looked between each other before shrugging their shoulders and following. “I wonder what school she works at?” Klaus said brushing his hair back to look presentable while pushing up his yellow tinted glasses “maybe one of those boarding schools dad talked about” he said with a smile “or maybe a normal school?” Diego thought out loud putting ideas out there “ooo! Maybe one of these skill trade schools.” Allison supplied flattening out wrinkles in her clothes.
Larissa was listening in on the conversation and internally laughed at the many ideas they had for what school she worked at. They turned a corner and saw a long yellow bus with a middle aged man behind the wheel as a few kids in black and purple striped uniforms climb into the bus except for one kid who was wearing a black and dark grey version of the uniform which Five, Klaus, and allison knew from earlier “uh oh. That's gonna be awkward” Klaus hissed through his teeth now seeing the girl “what?” Diego was lost in the rotation of what's going on “short version of it, the girl in all black and Five bumped into each other and pretty much have a date now. Rushed I know but still nice” Klaus whispered to Diego who nodded and rubbed his chin as he continued to watch what would be the interaction between Five and Wednesday. The siblings all put down bets in their minds about what would happen. Either the two would ignore each other or a heated conversation would happen. Larissa stopped the Hargreeves from entering the bus before all the students got on. They all looked at them with weird glances or questionable looks before they all got on. Larissa got on and made the family sit in the front, middle, and back. Mostly allowing them to interact with the kids.
Before Five moved to the back he stopped at Klaus “hey don't start any cults with the kids” he said before walking away. He ignored all the words Klaus spouted out at him before he made it to the back and sat down with Diego. “So I heard about your interaction with little miss darkness” Diego said turning to Five “we are not talking about it” Five said wanting to shut it down “hey i'm not pushing it but i gotta know. How did you two meet?” Diego wasn't much of a love kinda guy, that's Allison's job but he was still curious. Five slowly turned his head and just glared at Diego with daggers in his eyes “hey dont get pissey with me. Last we saw you date anyone was the mannequin. This could be a good thing” Deigo said whilst holding his hands in a defensive manner.
The rest of the ride to the school was quiet-ish. Five brooded and looked out the window with the rest of the siblings interacting with kids who seemed interested. Klaus had made friends with the vampire kids who seemed to enjoy his jokes, wisdom, and love of Dracula films. Alison made good friends with a very colorful and energetic werewolf kid as they both talked about nail colors. The shapeshifters got along with Diego as they told the fun stories of being a vigilante. Of course they did forget two siblings but they can survive on their own for a while.
