History, the most boring class ever, caused Lorezo’s fantasies to spring up, stronger than ever. Thinking about Alfie who was a close friend, yet he wished he was more than just a friend. Why can’t he be mine– “Hiii!” yelled Alfie from outside the classroom, trying to get Enzo’s attention.
“Hi,” was the only reply he got back.
Wow, I wonder if I made him angry with something that I did– The fire alarms started going off, interrupting Alfie’s thoughts – Oh great another drill, Alfie said, with clear annoyance showing through. Enzo got his backpack and walked to the door where Alfie was waiting for him.
“Are you mad?” “What? No, I’m not. I've just been a bit bored but that’s all, don't worry.” Alfie just gave him a nod not wanting to talk anymore.
While both were walking to the field, so that they could get into their lines, someone kept pushing Alfie and telling him to move faster. Alfie tries to keep the peace and walk faster, trying to ignore the boy’s comments on him.
Enzo gets so mad about it that he turns around to confront them, “What is your problem, idiot. My friend hasn’t wronged you in any way,""Oh look, the little pansy defending his boyfriend,” the group of boys howled with laughter.
We are NOT dating!! Was screamed by Alfie, while walking even faster, this just encouraged more laughter from the group.
Wow that hurt so much, yet I knew that our friendship couldn’t evolve into something else but it was nice to imagine it could be thought Enzo with a resigned sigh.
What’s wrong? Alfie asked him, trying to sound apologetic because he knew that Enzo hated when people yelled.
“Nothing, I’m fine,” replied Enzo trying to fake a smile
When they finally reached the line Enzo drifted back into his thoughts about what could’ve been if he hadn’t seized Alfie up so quickly. If Alfie hadn’t been interested in someone else. If he could just have him for one day. We can never be together, I wish we would, but he has been very clear that he only sees me as his friend.
