Work Text:
It was a bright afternoon, the sun shone greatly upon the wedding venue. It was a standard area -- outside on the soft green grass, with a grand arch decorated with beautiful marigolds and synthetic vines. The venue was just a small one -- Around 1/2 of the size of a master bedroom -- since it would just be the groom, and the other groom. It seemed a little empty, well -- other than the birds that sung their natural hymn as they sat upon the decorated arch. Neither the husbands to be wed, nor the officiant had arrived just yet.
It continued to be in the calm, serene state for just about thirty minutes. Just as the officiant arrived, the birds scattered into the nearby trees. They didnt waste a beat to immediately properly prepare the venue, Setting up the speakers, and the soundtrack -- since there was no musicians due to certain budget restraints -- and preparing their camera -- also due to budget restraints -- they straightened out the white tablecloth, D3rlord walks in smoothing down his specially tailor-made suit. The officiant immediately dashed back towards the arch, phone in hand. Their finger hovered over the play button on the wedding playlist.
After what felt like a few minutes -- Avery arrives. He stumbles over himself as he walks down the aisle in his surprisingly pristine white wedding suit that he's tried his very hardest not to stain, or tatter on the way to the reception. As the slow wedding march starts, he takes a tentative step after step, his eyes darting to the velvet red carpet. Avery could feel beads of sweat -- or slime balls or something -- form just on the top of his forehead. He quickly wiped the slick sweat off using the back of his glove, not caring enough to realize that it now had a slimy lime green stain on it.
Once Avery reached arch, he stood across from his love. His heart beat wildly in his chest, his eyes finally rested upon d3rlord as he steadied his breathing.
'Sorry der..' Avery mutters, his eyes crinkling as his expression turned into a bright one. 'Im just - just a bit nervous today' he manages to softly giggle out those words despite his worries.
'Quite alright Avery, im -- a bit nervous myself.' D3rlord whispers back to his green slime lover clad in a white suit. He subtly touched the fire red plume of his golden helmet, a habit of his when he has something on his mind -- or when he's nervous.
The wedding officiant spoke, well -- they were speaking as Avery and D3rlord were whispering to eachother. Conveniently -- for the author -- it was time to exchange vows! They called D3rlord to speak of his vows to Avery
