Chapter Text
It was a warm day in Musutafu. Too warm. Deku sat on the couch of the League's base silently, muttering something inaudible as he wiped the sweat from his forehead. It was one of those days.
The sky was clear. A warm breeze blew through the open window, but it did nothing to really ease his mind. Deku much prefered the cold. Days like these brought back memories he'd rather stuff away.
"Izukuuuu !?" He flinched, quickly shaking his head. He looked around the base, his expression softening. Dabi gave him a curious look, but Deku ignored him. It had been years since the fire.
Since that dreadful day that changed everything.
He silently got up, walking to the small kitchen to grab a drink. His life in the League wasn't ideal.
Dabi's blueflame reminded him time and time again about the fire. The loss. He just tolerated him. For the League's sake.
Toga was just too bubbly. Her obsession with knives and boys became weird sometimes.
Twice and Spinner ? He didn't have much of a connection with them. Not cause they were annoying or anything. Just the fact Twice' dual personality confused him and the fact that Deku much prefered his time alone.
He stared around the kitchen silently, sighing as he noticed the dishes in the sink.
Great- That could top it off... The League always worked with a cleaning schedule, but Deku usually did most of the chores.
Opening the fridge, he silently searched through the cans of soda. Too sweet. Too bitter. Too-
He scrunched up his nose, turning the can in his hands. Must be one of Toga's limited editions again...
He quickly put the can back, searching until he found one of his. He much prefered the lighter drinks.
Not too sweet. Not too prickly. Just simple soda that actually helped against thirst.
Clicking open the cap, he quickly gulped down half his drink.
Closing the fridge, he silently walked back to the living area. Usually he would clean those dishes, but today was really messing with his mind.
He was 5 when fate took everything from him. He had been taken by CPS, placed in an orphanage.
For days on end, he had hoped it was all a mistake. That Inko would pick him up. Tell him everything would be fine. Wrap her arms around him and never let go. But that moment never came...
He lived in the orphanage for a few days, hearing other kids talk about him behind his back.
The pity, but also the taunts. The opinions of people who had no clue of what had really happened.
He had decided to run away, only to bump into All for one. It might aswell have been his saving.
He was given a home. A quirk. A chaotic, messy family. But he had company none the less.
A place to stay, until one day he would finally be seen. Not just by them.
But by the heroes that had discarded him so easily, when he had nobody else.
