Chapter 1: Lost

Chapter Text

Lucifer sighed. What was he supposed to do now? He was stuck. In the rain. In the middle of nowhere. At night. Things couldn't be worse.

He grabbed his phone from the passenger seat. Dead. “Fuck,” he muttered. “I knew I should've charged it before I left.”

He slammed his head against the steering wheel. “Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck,” he didn't know when, but at some point his eyes started leaking water. “What am I supposed to do? All I wanted was to see my daughter… why do these things happen to me?”

Wiping his eyes he sat back against the seat. He had two choices as he saw it: one, he could try and walk to somewhere that he could get help, or he could wait for a car to pass. Worst comes to worst. He could sleep in the car tonight. Not like he hadn't slept in a car before.

An hour later of standing in the rain, there had been no cars. And Lucifer had no interest in getting more lost looking for help. Flopping down in the back seat of the car he quickly fell asleep.

Alastor woke up in the middle of the night. He groaned. *Fucking insomnia* he thought. He reached over to his bedside table only to find out he was out of melatonin gummies.

There was no way he was getting to sleep again without his gummies.

He loaded himself up in his car to grab some melatonin from the Rite- Aid closest to his house. Which wasn't close at all, but it was closer than anything else.

He'd just passed the two mile mark when he thought he spotted something on the side of the road through the rain. Normally he would've missed it, but he was driving slow. When he backed up he saw it was a car. Odd. Few people traveled through here.

Another odd thing: all the lights were off. Alastor told himself to just drive away. This didn't concern him. However, curiosity got the better of him and he went up and knocked on the window.
