Chapter 1: The Long Walk

Chapter Text

Soapi and Sudsi

An Eriverse spin-off series.

As Soapi clung tightly to the loose, cold fabric of HIS sleeve, she instinctively drew back a little, hiding behind HIM without even realizing it. He looked down at her beady purple eyes, shimmering in the laboratory lights. Her arms and legs were trembling, and she was on the brink of tears. An ocean threatened to well up in her eyes, but she tried not to let it show. After all, who needs more trouble with Soapi? She got into enough trouble enough already. Crying would just make things worse.

His voice rung out through the air like alarm bells, a cold blue hand suddenly reaching out from behind him to clench Soapi’s trembling one. He dragged her forcefully in front of him, and she kneeled down instinctively, not bearing to look at him.

“Soapi, since you’ve been so…disrespectful…to Ami and Lilac, you’ll be temporarily moved to a new cell.” He said, voice commanding yet soft. “And I expect you to behave. Got it?” These last two words felt like sharp daggers in her skull.

He kept squeezing her hand, pulling her up to stand with a slightly gentle movement. He was never gentle, after all, but who could blame him? So many experiments to watch, it must get tiring to treat them all with kindness…

Except of course, he didn’t.

As he tugged at Soapi’s arm, trying to get her to move, Soapi couldn’t help herself anymore. The faucets in her eyes opened, flooding her vision with her tears. She quickly looked at his dark expression in fear, before hiding her face in her arm. This motion was an opportunity for him, and he quickly jerked her arms forward and began marching towards this new room.

She realized what was happening a bit too late, yet still struggled with her little strength she had. Her heavy weight dragged him down a bit, but it wasn’t nearly enough. After all, he was merged with too many things to be able to control his own strength. He just kept walking as if nothing was happening. She was brushed off like a small insect, insignificant and disgusting to look at.

As she got closer to this unknown location, he began to start conversing with her as if she wasn’t trying to stop him from moving her.
“So, I’d assume you would hate roommates and all,” he began, with a flat tone, “but I don’t have enough room. You are getting one anyway, even if you can’t communicate well enough. Oh well, it’ll be interesting to study the behavior of it all.” This last part he mostly said to himself, but Soapi cowered a little at this last part. She hated being studied.

His movement suddenly stopped, as he approached two locked doors. They had a small scanner next to them, meant for scientists only. There was an observation box for safety, just so scientists could spy on whoever was in there. And that was Soapi’s fear. Who was in there?

Either way, no matter what she would do next, she was going to find that out.
