Chapter Text
Sawako found herself in a state of panic after her brief conversation with Kazahaya.
" I always assumed at least out of all the other guys in our class, I was the one who was closest to you, but maybe I was wrong"
what the hell did he mean by that? To make things worse, he thinks that she's upset with him. She wasn't upset in the slightest…
well
not at him
...
directly anyways
She wasn’t upset, more … frustrated and really annoyed that she could never clearly get her point across to people without there being some type of misunderstanding.
Its at times like these that she especially wishes that she were more forward,
more definite
more..
confident
In herself, sort of like Chizu, Ayane, Sanada and Kazehaya were confident in themselves.
She swallowed hard and began quickly shaking her head.
She had a very long way to go before that would happen but maybe, hopefully, time was a relative.
She pulled her bag off the table and turned around as she prepared to leave but in the doorway she could see... somebody staring at her?
Miura?
She shot him a confused glance, a question mark popping off the side of her head, as he opened the classroom door and stepped inside.
"heyyyy Sadako" he heavily enunciated as he energetically strutted over towards her with a big smile on his face.
"H-hello miura" she stiffly greeted back
"stop frowning!" he scolded as he pointed at her face
This was something that also commonly happened. People would tell her how she was always frowning or that she looked really angry for no apparent reason; it was a one of the key reasons in her 'Sadako' and 'psychic' rumours. She really needed to stop frowning so much. Another reason Sawako wished to shed her current persona.
Her face must of looked really dejected as she thought about it because she felt a tap on her shoulder
"why do you suddenly look more gloomy than usual, what happened?"
"ummmm..."
Should she tell him? She really didn't want to burden another person with her problems.
" come on! We're friends you can tell me!"
Well that did make her feel slightly more a ea-
...
Friends!?
"friends?" she questioned as she felt excitement slowly building up inside her, sparkles dancing in her eyes.
"yeah of course! we're desk mates sooo we should be friends too, and friends help each other so stop being so gloomy and tell me what's wrong"
The last time she made a friend with putting in little to no effort was when she became friends with Kurumi and she still had, umm, mixed feelings about the situation as a whole but Miura seemed to have Sawako‘s best interest in his mind so she didn't feel that worried.
" I want to be more confident in myself!" She quietly blurted out; it was no louder than a slight whisper
"really?"
"yeah..."
After a long stretch of silence , he replied " that's it?"
"uh y-yeah"
"of course I can help you! I'm a master at helping people, you'll be more confident in no time with my help."
"Oh thank you! I'll be a really good learner and I'll try my hardest to not be a burden on you" she happily exclaimed as a bright smile creeped onto her face until she flinched from a sudden pressure on her wrist.
"Since we're friends, Im gonna give you my number so we can talk outside off school, m-kay" Miura had grabbed her wrist and began writing his number on her hand
why didn't he just tell her it or write it on a piece of paper?
Whatever his odd reasoning was, it didn't matter because after he was done writing, he turned around and begun to walk out the classroom door.
"Bye Sadako, text me when you get home"
"A-alright, I will" she yelled but he was already out the door. She looked down at her hand and messily written on the back was ...

(^_^)
don't be shy
When she left school that day, she didn't feel worried or troubled like she assumed she would 20 minutes ago, she felt happiness and warmth pooling in her stomach, determined and hopeful that she would become more...
confident
