“WAIT! So, you aren’t coming back to the police force as a dog handler?!”
Lebby chuckled before saying thank you to the dog she had had for the longest time, ever since her birthday celebration when she was 21 years old, taking the book from the dog's mouth to place inside her bag. Gumshoe was surprised to see this happening, considering he assumed she would forever remain with training newly bred dogs ready for the police. His hand gripped the leash carrying Misslie, who was just waiting impatiently for the routine to start.
“I'm sorry, gumshoe. I changed my mind on what my career should be. Haven't I spread news a while ago?”
“Yes but—”
He sulked. His eyes were on the floor, full of pity, before glancing back at her.
“I didn’t think you were serious!”
He had a strange feeling before the day of packing. All the things that she displayed—her bells, charm, collars, and training devices all the way to her books and figures she enjoyed displaying—were disappearing. At first he assumed maybe she reorganized them, but now the truth seemed so apparent and bare to show she was going to another state.
His hand clutched his heart, holding a sob; he would try to let it out. His face crunched up and his brows furrowed as his lips trembled. Gumshoe’s sniffles were becoming too obvious as Lebby got taken aback at his reaction. Her hands were waving around, trying to calm him.
“Oh, Lebby! I was sooo busy with Miles Edgeworth! All the cases were tumbling down, and now I found out you are leaving already?! Worse than having my salary cut!”
“Hey hey! I'm not gone forever! Ah–”
Did this man really assume his life would end after the departure of the Lebby Police Force?
“All I have are curses! Oh my bad luck—Wait, let me help you.” Noticing her grip on the outfits and items she owned out of the closet.
After placing back the remaining items into the boxes she kept. She got up and tried to explain. Slightly nervously considering the fact she wasn’t good with her own words. Her face pouting as she turned away, sitting down on the bed as they both looked out the window. The morning was lovely as usual.
"You are so dramatic, Gumshoe! I will be back! I guess since you are clueless!” She smacked him on the head as he got taken away before chuckling a bit. “I'm going to be a defense attorney! Returning back to the familiar place of law, I'm not going anywhere."
“Defense attorney? Why?"
She hesitated before shifting in her seat on the bed. She tilted her head before turning back to answer Gumshoe.
“Well… I know I spend all of my life being acquainted with detectives and officers and especially making friends. I also had fun helping everyone on the information but…”
She shook her head.
“I feel like I can do something more! I'm always backbenched… but seeing all the lawyers fight with passion, I had a sense of feeling I can do it too!”
She was beaming, talking about her observation and her own motives for her decision-making on the career. However, she can tell she needed to go for university to become more knowledgeable on the law and such now that the info she has won’t apply, well, not entirely. Gumshoe still felt lost with her reasoning. A defense attorney? She was better off being here, in their own normal routine of getting information, placing all the analysis, and sometimes needing help in determining the murder weapon. But he won't be able to see her again! She would be in the opposing force, unable to take his help! He was going to cry again as he hugged her so tight.
“Lebbbbyyyyyyyy!!” He coughed up, choking his tears
“Eeekkk!! Gumshoe ack—I can’t breathe!!”
Ema was just going to approach him till she saw the scene before her, sighing over her breath before puffing up. She came forward to try to talk to her about a gift she had before; the dog, noticing her, came in to tap Lebby into focus towards her. She got the signal, but Gumshoe would not let her go.
"Hi-hiii… Ema…” She breathes in and out.
“Gee! It looks like a father who refuses to let his daughter go to parties!”
"Haha, is that so…!”
She bit her lips before finally letting go due to the call coming in from the gumshoe jacket pocket; he took out the phone and saw it was Edgeworth calling him in. He frowned more before telling him he needed to go and help Edgeworth in whatever task. Both Ema and he were left in the room as he ran from the room, taking Missile with him.
“Welp, I assume that's out of the way. Why don't I show you what I got? It's a farewell gift from me!”
“Awh shucks, you don't have to… wait. Is this the scientific theme gift you got me…”
Lebby held it in her hands, shaking up and down. The baox wasnt too large but it was medium size with pastel ribbons of pink. Althougth she was bought to open it, she melled some other prescene of a person with scent so strong. She glanced back it was anoher figure coming up.
But frist, she wants to check out this present.
“Well, if you dont have the gift, you can hand it back to me…” Ema pouted.
“Nonono! Okay okay, lets see…”
She unting the ribbon, there was a pair of binoculars! Ah! That’s a suprise for sure. It was greyish in color with lens oh so bright in the sunlight. Picking it up, there was a logo for the brand too with straps on the side.
“What do you think! You can even see the scenery without having to move an inch!
Laughter rang out of Ema before coughing back to slience.
“Hey! Hehe, I did say i like sight seeing… hm… I will miss the country city where i resided…”
“I m also going somehwere out of Europe too” readjusting the glasses again. “So I guess, we both have similar cases! Don’t worry, i will carry another soveriner.”
A loud yelped came out of the door with Meekin’s on the floor dazed up. Oh great. She already had a feeling the figure was Maggie herself. Man… they do keep on making more tourble than usual…
“Guys! Get out of my room!”
“S-sorry!”
Her nervous laugh rang out of her mouth before being shut when meekins started using his mirocphone to announce his arivals. They were like two people jumbled into a lump of a wrong match. How did she herself got best friend group like this. She got up to help getting both of them out of the wall before contiuing the rest of the day. Meekins was such a hyper active screechy person but whatever, she gotten used to the microphone he used to be more improtant looking.
Such a busy event it was. Having to on her final walk down the park she lived by, having to eat food with her most familiar faces (Althought she ended up paying for Gumshoe meal and hers.) and finally something that touched her soul, that being having to look back all the dog she trained back. Oh how she will miss them, but the future is bright and all in a setting stone as a defense attonery.
She felt something wet dripping and felt it. It was her tears facing all this nosligna. She looked back at the notes making for the university studies before cursing, praying the notes didnt get wet from her tear drops. Gee! How long as she been sitting thinking about the past memories she had in the police force.
Oh well, looks like its noodles for dinner today to compensate her dog food.
