Chapter Text
HYACINTH
I stir awake as the soft morning light filters through the curtains. My eyes open up to look at my golden sunshine beside me.
I quietly slip out of the bed, without disturbing him. I wash up before I walk towards the kitchen of our apartment.
Just as I wash my hands and am getting ready to make breakfast, an arm wraps around my waist and pulls me closer. Apollo snuggles into the crook of my neck before I tangle his hair in my fingers and soothe it out.
“Sleep..” Apollo quietly murmurs as he opens his hazy eyes and tilts his head to look at me, his bed hair looking adorably cute.
“Come on. Wake up, sunshine.” I say as I press a peck against his lips. “You’ve had enough sleep.”
“You weren’t in the bed until midnight,” He complains.
“So, you’re making up for that now?” I ask as I press a peck against his lips again. “Is that what you’re trying to do? Mhm, Apollo?”
“Pretty much.” He replies, his eyes clearer now as his hands tighten around my waist.
“You’re so cute.” I muttered as I put my focus back on making breakfast. We need to get ready.
“Am not.” Apollo grumbles as he rests his chin on my shoulder.
“You are.” I say as I move my hand to open up a cupboard and take out some jars. I need to brew tea. He is definitely in desperate need of some.
He scoffs in reply but doesn’t argue back. Lord, he can be so grumpy in the mornings.
Lazy ass.
I try to move to the fridge. Trying, because I have a 6’ 3’’ big baby clinging to me right now.
“Keep moving, Apollo.” I tell him as I drag him with myself towards the fridge.
“Moving..” He mutters so lazily that one would think that he’s still asleep.
I grab some bread and jam, from the fridge before I forcefully get Apollo to go take a shower.
I quickly make a toast before I put down our plates on the counter.
I walk towards our bedroom, only to find that Apollo is still in the shower. I knock on the bathroom door before I say, “Breakfast’s ready. Come out fast or it’ll get cold.”
“Coming. You go.” Apollo replies back.
“Come out fast.” I tell him before I walk back towards the kitchen and set a timer for a minute. He better not be taking his hour long showers right now.
Just as the time is about to run out, Apollo comes into my view. My eyes narrow at him and he grins as he sits on the stool across me.
Cheeky bastard.
He just got his ass saved by a second or two.
“So..” Apollo speaks up as he holds his toast.
“So..?” I mirror.
“Do you have anything additional today?”
“Yes, dance.”
“You know..” Apollo says as he puts his elbow on the counter. “You’re already so beautiful and graceful.”
“Ah-huh?” I ask back. I definitely know what’s he getting at.
“Yeah.”
“And?”
“And..” Apollo says as he sips his tea. “People will pettily get jealous if you’re good in all the fields.”
“The only person I know who gets jealous because he is pretty petty is you. So, stop with that drama.” I reply back, my voice full of sarcasm and fondness.
“Drama?!” Apollo asks, his hands clenching his shirt and his hair. God, he looks like a sculpture. “You wound me, beloved. How could I ever over-react? How could I ever exaggerate?”
Yeah. That’s definitely what he does. But I don’t say that since he is putting effort in making me believe otherwise.
“Yeah, yeah. How could you?” I play along but roll my eyes nonetheless. Lord, he is such a drama queen.
“Yes. How could I?” Apollo repeats, as if to put emphasis on the question, though it holds no value because it’s built on lies. “Only Aphrodite does that.”
I almost choke on my laughter as I hear that.
I lean back as I ask, “Is that so?”
“Yes, it’s true.”
I lean in closer this time, both of my elbows on the counter, both my hands holding my cup of tea, before I speak, “You know.. you shouldn’t let her hear that. What do you think were to happen if she puts a spell on me and makes me forget about you?”
Apollo’s face drains of colour, before he crosses his arms over his chest and scoffs, “You’re cruel, my dear. Spouting such vicious thoughts and lies.”
“Ah-huh? Lies, you say?” I ask. “You and I both know that’s what’s going to happen if she gets to know that you said this about her.”
“I didn’t mean it like that. You know that.” Apollo grumbles. “Plus, it was worth it. I saw you laugh.”
“You have such dry humour,” I tell him.
“You tell me that every day,” He replies.
“As dry as the desert.”
“To be honest, I don’t care if it’s dry as long as it makes you laugh. All I need to be is as warm as the sun, so that you can sneak my warmth at night in our chamber.”
“Chamber. Such old-fashioned language.” I scoff, even though my cheeks heat up a little.
“I see you going red at it though.” He says with a grin.
“Hallucinations,” I tell him.
“Ah?” He lets out a questioning sound before he reaches out and his thumb caresses my cheek. “No, I don’t think so, my love. I think you’re indeed red.”
“Am not.” I say sharply as I slap his hand away. Lord, why do I have a literal tease as my partner?
“You are,” Apollo insists again.
“Shut up for lord’s sake,” I reply.
“I’ll pass.” Apollo says as he pinches my cheek.
“Ow.” I murmur as I slap his hand again.
Agh. What am I supposed to do with this god?
Apollo takes his hand back but not before he flicks my forehead.
“Ouch. I make you breakfast and that’s what I get?” I ask as I look up to glare at him half-heartedly.
“That’s quite rude, I think?” Apollo grins as he puts down his cup.
“Extremely.” I reply back as I watch him as he gets up before he puts his palms on the counter and leans over.
I close my eyes as a soft kiss presses against my forehead and then my eyes.
“That’s not fair.” I say as I open one eye.
“It is fair.” Apollo tells me as he leans down to pull my lips into a sweet, deep kiss.
