So, things got busy if you are wondering where the Star Trek/Red Hood story went.
I had to get a new computer and family got sick and died. It interrupted the flow and by the time I was able to return to it potentially, I lost all track of where I wanted the story to go. But I was not idle as something new began to formulate originally as a spin off from it.
It all started on the tail of the same inspiration that drove that story, but over time, it became something new. Something that I am finding is looking better in its inception than anything else I wrote.
I also dove into lore research to get it to where I want it took time and money as I needed source books… and minis. The sourcebooks being Battletech. I am also working on painting all the mechs and equipment used in this story. Yeah, that might be a while. (I am waiting on seeing what Modernia/Marian’s, Scarlet’s, Rapunzel’s, Dorothy’s, and Noah’s new forms will be or at least hint at them and then retcon when they do come out.) In short, I want to do both settings justice and not write a ‘Cult of the MechWarrior’ story.
For those wondering where this takes place in the Nikke story, just after the events of Chapter 46/Star Anis and just before B-Side Idol.
I also decided to try a different, less structured way of writing a story. Instead of writing scenes in chronological order, I just wrote them as I thought of them and then reworked them to be better and more complete.
You can find the information about the units in the SpaceBattle’s forum entry for this story which can be considered a slightly less refined/pre-final draft version. I’ll be putting these up in blocks.
Finally, fanart is welcome but no GenAI stuff please. Either draw it yourself or commission it and tell me where to find it. Yes, share your interpretations of the various BattleMechs and scenes in the story as far as miniatures or artwork goes.
Anyways, enough about myself. I just hope every ready enjoys and that I do both settings the justice that they deserve.
