The green, clear beer bottle spun around quickly on the scratchy floor as Scott Pilgrim spun the bottle since it was his turn to go. Wallace Wells, Ramona Flowers, Stephen Stills, Young Neil, and some other girls and guys from the party Julie Powers hosted watched closely.
The bottle began to slow down as everyone watched excitedly.
Time felt like it slowed down for Pilgrim while he watched the bottle.
The bottle had landed on the one and only gayest guy Scott has ever met, who also pays for everything he owns, who ALSO lends him his apartment to live in since he has no job or place to stay, Wallace fucking Wells?!
Everyone around Scott and Wallace cheered and started to push them around playfully.
Ramona cracked a small smile, and Young Neil made a stupid face towards them. Stephen didn’t even know what to do or say, nor did Scott.
“Scott and I are gonna have a good time in there. Don’t mind us if we take more than 7 minutes.” Wallace jokingly said with a cocky smirk.
He grabbed his roommate's hand and led him into the closet, then closed the door and sat across from him. He heard someone lock the closet as they could hear everyone chatter subtly inside.
Scott didn’t know what to say or what to do but stare at him. He felt the cluttered closet around him with objects on shelves that felt like they were judging him for even being in this closet.
Scott shuffled around sheepishly as he fidgeted with his hands on the floor a little. “You’re kidding, right?” he said awkwardly and slightly in a playful tone, not sure how to go about this situation. What was he even supposed to think? Was he supposed to kiss him? Touch him? Look at him?
“You know I’m joking, guy. Don’t gotta do whatever, unless you want to.” Wallace poked fun at him a little, smiling the entire time as he did. He did want to do something intimate with him, but he didn’t want to push it on him. He just hoped that Scott would want to, too.
“Um, don’t tell anyone, but can we maybe kiss a little? I need some feedback on my kissing. I’m still trying to move to Ramona, but I need some practice.” Scott said to his roommate, not looking him in the eye as he shaped into an awkward sitting position. He didn’t want anything weird going on towards them, but just “practice”.
“Like what kind of kissing? You want tongue, Scotty? I can allow that.” Wallace laughed gently as he crawled towards the ginger guy, leaning his chest on Scott’s legs.
“Yes, I guess so,” Scott said sheepishly before putting his hand on Wallace’s neck. Wallace responded accordingly by leaning towards his hand.
“I’m going to do it… okay? This isn’t going to be more than anything, though.” He said as he closed his eyes awkwardly to avoid Wallace’s face. He felt quite embarrassed to do this since he’s never kissed a guy before; it’ll be the first and last kiss ever.
“Mhm, go ahead, guy,” Wallace said as he smirked gently, waiting for him to take the first turn. He stared at his lips and roamed his eyes all over his face. He felt a little upset that it won't be more than a kiss, but a kiss is a kiss, and Scott is weirdly hot in his mind.
Scott leans in and starts to kiss Wallace’s lips in a soft manner, kissing him passionately, as if he were addicted. He pokes his tongue in Wallace’s mouth, asking to enter as he feels the closet getting warm; or maybe it’s just him blushing, we will never know.
Wallace fights back with another passionate kiss, allowing his roommate's tongue in his mouth as his tongue swirls around with his.
Scott holds onto his roommate dearly, rubbing his hands all over his body as they sloppily make out like two drunk teenagers.
“Ah… Ramona-” Scott whispered during the kiss as he placed his hands in Wallace’s black hair, running his hands through his hair. He imagined Wallace as Ramona with her beautiful, fluffy, short dyed hair that flowed in the air smoothly.
He thought of her stunning black eyes staring at him, her long and full eyelashes with a tint of mascara, her cute and pink little lips, her chest that- never mind. We don’t need to get into that.
Scott had fully forgotten about Wallace and the seven minutes; he had just imagined Ramona as if it were the real deal.
Wallace slightly got turned off by hearing Ramona’s name in Scott’s mouth, but kept on kissing him with his soft lips. His hands held his shoulders, rubbing them gently. Their lips interlocked as they both enjoyed it.
He tried to drown out his feelings by kissing Scott harder and closing his eyes. He wanted to imagine that Scott actually did like him. He wanted to imagine that Scott wasn’t into Ramona. He wanted to imagine that Scott saw him as more than a practice machine.
Wallace’s hands slipped off Scott’s body, clenching it harshly beside his roommate’s body to let his emotions out in some way. He didn’t want to cry, so he just clenched his fists as hard as he could to relieve what he felt during the moment.
Sparks fell around Wallace quietly, but they didn’t for Scott. Scott didn’t even really notice the sparks anyway. Wallace definitely did. Wallace tried to ignore the sparks and try to make them shoo, but they stayed there. He didn’t want to feel these things, especially during this moment.
Scott pulled away from the kiss as he panted gently, wiping the saliva off his lips, and gently smiling at Wallace. He slightly shuffled his body away from Wallace, as he felt more content.
“That was good. Do you think I’m good?” Scott said as his hands fell out of Wallace’s hair, falling to his sides. His head gently lay on Wallace’s shoulder while looking up at him.
“Yeah, you’re good, guy.” Wallace gently laughed with a small smirk, patting his head affectionately while hiding what he really felt. Wallace usually never cares for guys since he always hooks up with everyone, but he felt a spark for Scott. It wasn’t the same way, though.
He has known Scott since college, and tried so hard to hit on him and get together with him. Scott never saw him that way, and he was just his best friend to him. He suppressed those feelings by just hooking up with some random guys. He wanted them to be his true spark.
The door opened abruptly as Julie Powers opened it, staring at both of them with her large, brown, deadly eyes.
“Get the #### out of my closet, Scott and Wallace!” Julie yelled at both of them while staring down at them as Wallace was on top of Scott. They both got up as everyone cheered.
A small, awkward poker face appeared on Scott’s face while he watched the crowd of people, as Wallace also had a poker face on. Wallace smiled widely and proudly, kissing Scott’s cheek softly while his arm was around Scott’s neck for the bit.
Later on, Wallace decided to get drunk off his mind as he usually did. He wanted to obviously drink and leave these thoughts of Scott alone.
Scott stayed beside Wallace with a half-empty cup of Coke Zero while Wallace drank his alcoholic drink of choice. They both sat at Julie's countertop while Wallace was too busy hitting on a random guy.
“Can we go home now, Wallace?” Scott childishly whined in boredom, poking at his shoulder slightly. He just stared down at his crushed cup of Coke Zero that he didn’t finish.
“5- 5 more minutes,” Wallace replied to Scott sluggishly while hiccuping. Waving his hand at him, telling him that he doesn’t care. He was really wasted and moving all over the place, leaning on anybody he saw.
Scott gently sighed, rubbing his head. He grabbed Wallace’s hand, trying to drag him out of the party. “You’re too drunk, we have to go home.”
“You fuckin’-... suck, guy,” Wallace said with a hoarse voice, his words spilling everywhere drunkenly like he was drugged. He held onto Scott for dear life as he could barely walk.
“I’m trying to do you a favour! I’m offended, Wallace.” Scott replied as he held up Wallace with his body weight and arms, hugging him. It really sucked that they didn’t have a car, so they had to take the public bus.
Wallace interlocked his hand with his, showing him a dumb smirk. “W-Well, you’re cute, guy, so it’s- fine. I like cute-... guys. Did I ever tell you that… I like you?” Wallace slurred his words while staring at him with lovey-dovey eyes. He squeezed Wallace’s soft hand and hugged his arm affectionately.
Scott froze in place but tried to keep walking, as they were a few steps from their bus stop. “Um- ah… no, you have not told me… that.”
He said awkwardly as he stopped holding hands with him, sticking his hand into his pocket, messily shuffling with different types of trash in his pocket to find his coins, which he definitely didn’t have enough to get home.
He tried to think about other things he had to worry about, so he didn’t feel as bad for Wallace. He thought of hanging out with Ramona and the band. It made him feel a little better, like the asshole he is.
He really did not want to tell him about his real feelings towards Wallace, even though he’s drunk out of his mind. It’ll change everything between them. He hates change.
They arrived at the bus stop as Scott held Wallace's hand and his body so he could be more stable. He put the money into the coin machine at the bus stop, and they took their seats beside each other.
“Do you like me too, Scotty?” Wallace asked while being unintelligible. He wanted an answer from him. He begged for it to be yes. Wallace was drunk out of his mind, and he just wanted everything to be okay.
“Um, you won’t even remember what I’ll say when it reaches the morning, so it doesn’t really matter?” Scott tried to run away from his question as he was obviously very nervous, but hoped his roommate didn’t notice.
The ginger man looked out the window, fixating on random things, like the Pizza Pizza place they always go to or the shitty Goodwill he used to go with Knives. He did it so he could calm down and just avoid his feelings towards him like always.
“It matters to- to me, even if I-I won’t remember it,” Wallace replied as he held onto Scott. He looked up at him with desperate eyes. He at least wanted to try to get an answer from him while trying to look at him staring out of the window.
“I- uh, don’t… don’t like you?” Scott winced as he said that, gritting his teeth a little after saying that. He slightly looked at Wallace before looking away. He cringed at himself so badly on the inside.
He never felt that he could actually have the courage to say that, but it slipped out. The gross seat he sat on squeaked a little as he changed his position to ignore Wallace’s sappy face.
“Sorry.” He muttered to Wallace, but it was barely audible. He tried to look at him with sincerity, but he couldn't help but dart away from his desperate eyes, fidgeting with his hands and arms awkwardly to calm himself down and feel less of an asshole.
At first, Wallace didn’t reply with anything. He flicked his eyes to look somewhere else. He looked away to stare at the midnight dark blue sky and just leaned his head on Scott’s shoulder while feeling the heat on his face from how upset he felt. He knew it was coming, but he felt like it could’ve been a little different.
“It’s- it’s cool, guy.” Wallace hiccuped before he slipped away from Scott. He knew why he didn’t like him, and he understood why. No matter how upset he was, he couldn’t do anything about it. He shamed himself for telling him about his feelings. He hated himself for liking him. Why did Scott have to be straight?
“Gotta go sleep.” He murmured as quietly as a whisper, falling on the futon aggressively as he just wanted to sleep the night away. He wouldn't even remember this night in the morning anyway. It didn’t matter. He’ll just find some other guy and fuck him. Whatever.
Scott turned off the lights quietly, feeling the pain of his emotions inside him. He didn’t know what else to do but go to sleep. What was he supposed to do? Lie to him that he did like him? He felt a hole inside his chest, and it hurt like shit. He never wanted to hurt his best friend.
“I mean- I’m not gay, Wallace. We can, like, cuddle or something. If it’ll make you, you know, feel better.” He said awkwardly while he fell on the futon beside him, as he didn’t know how to help him. Blinking at the back of his neck, hoping he’ll answer.
Wallace flipped to Scott’s side, not arguing as he immediately cuddled up to him, his arms wrapping around him. Scott sighed in relief, thanking whatever God out there for keeping Wallace from being mad at him.
Wallace hugged him tightly, his hands holding onto him, scared his grip would slip. The darker-haired man could feel tears jerking out of his eyes, but didn’t say anything about it. His small tears stained a puddle in Scott’s shirt.
Scott noticed his shirt felt a little wet, and it made him feel even worse than he already did. He started to pet his roommate's hair softly, rubbing it in a caring manner and at a slow pace.
“I’m sorry,” Scott murmured to the beautiful black-haired man cuddling against him. He hummed quietly and softly, stroking every strand of his soft hair while he cried softly in his shirt.
