Would you be so kind

Summary:

All is going a little too well. In Starfleet

Almost as if someone is keeping things kind and in harmony.

Yes, this is me being shipping trash.
And my copium headcanon for G5 and the burn.

Chapter 1: Prologue: Bubbly clouds

Chapter Text

Rutherford was currently heading to sick bay.

Tendi was next to him as they helped Boinler limp, while Mariner was laughing her ass off, opening the door ahead of the trio.

“It's not that funny.”

“Who breaks their leg during yoga!?”

“You are the one who left the dumbbell there!”

“Dang, I was hoping that you didn't notice that.”

The Galaxy-class ship boasted extensive medical facilities, and the technology of the Federation was leagues ahead of that of the theoreticals of the 21st century, thanks to both increases in technology and the countless cultures within the Gederation working towards the betterment of science.

A broken leg could be splinted and healed. Or at worst, be amputated so a new leg could be replicated.

“Still, I am sorry about that.”

Mariner said legitimately sorry as she helped Boimler move in the med bay.

The white room was fairly empty, surprisingly so. They expected to be met by at least someone getting a check-up or Dr. Ta’ana checking inventory. Instead, they met with a single woman in a blue uniform. And an admiral rank.

Her hair was a natural pink, but she looked human. In addition, she appeared youthful, probably in her mid-20s, as she fidgeted with a tablet.

“Eep!”

The girl fumbled around with the tablet, almost dropping it as she was surprised by the group.

“Oh! Sorry, Admiral, we did not mean to startle you.”

“ah… ahem. Hi, sorry I wasn't expecting anyone… Oh dear. It looks like you're a little hurt. You are extremely fortunate that you only sustained minor scratches because you would have been dealing with a broken leg otherwise.

As she grasped the tablet, the admiral snapped her finger, seemingly reminding herself of something.

“Actually, Admiral, I'm fairly sure that Boinler did break his leg.”

Tendi spoke, rather puzzled.

The admiral merely tilted her head.

“It doesn't look broken.”

The admiral said, expanding her palm towards Boinler. Right now, he was using both legs to support his weight. Tendi and Rutherford on both sides.

"I—what?"

The Starfleet officer stretched and tapped his legs twice.

“That makes no sense. I thought I might have broken my leg.”

The admiral chuckled slightly as if she were sharing a personal joke that the officers were not aware of.

"What's the fun of making sense?" she asked in a chuckle as if his leg wasn’t broken.

The four officers looked at each other with a bit of a puzzled expression

“Oh, sorry, just a small family joke. Don't stress about it.*

The admiral placed the tablet down and leaned down, looking at his legs.

“Well, it seems like you four have been having a bit of a stressful day. So why don't you take the rest of the day off and be more careful alright?”

‘Alright! Ale on me!’ Mariner said in celebration, as if she didn't almost break her friend's leg pushing the group outside.

The “Admiral” giggled at the group of friends being reminded of more nostalgic times, waving them goodbye as she continued to update Starfleet's database on illnesses and their associated vaccines,

“Oh admiral, I forgot to ask for your name.”

Tendi came back to the med bay only to see the tablet already updated and the “admiral” nowhere in sight.

“Huh.”

The Mistress of the winter Constellation picked up the tablet, the “Admiral,” Neglecting to close the information on vaccines. The ridiculously large archive placed under the name of Dr. Ta’ana.

“That was weird.”
