Morning in The Citadel

Summary:

Morning fluff with Dark Choco and Red Velvet

Work Text:

Red Velvet yawned as he began to stir in bed. His miss-matched eyes slowly began to open before growling at the sunlight that filtered in through the crack between the curtains.

He lifted his head, attempting to follow with his body, but was dragged back down by a pair of arms.

"Choco... It's morning..." Red Velvet mumbled, trying to sit up.

"Stay..." Dark Choco whined, pulling Red Velvet back down. "Five more minutes..."

"But the sun is in my eyes..." Red Velvet argued.

Dark Choco didn't say anything, instead removing his arms from Red Velvet's chest and wrapping them around his neck, pulling his face into his chest.

"Better?" Dark Choco inquired.

Red Velvet didn't respond, burying his face in Dark Choco's chest. While it may not have been Dark Choco's favorite part of his own body, Red Velvet loved it. He shuffled downward so his head was under Dark Choco's shirt. He enjoyed burying himself in Dark Choco's bittersweet scent. He only wanted out of bed because of the light in his eye, but he preferred this by a landslide and began to doze back off.

KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK!

Dark Choco shot up in bed, quickly shoving Red Velvet under the blankets.

"Dark Choco, it's your father. It's almost 800 hours," Dark Cacao announced, poking his head in the bedroom.

"A-Alright, father," Dark Choco smiled, muffling Red Velvet with a pillow to the face and a leg over him body to keep him from shuffling.

"Are you alright? You look warm," Dark Cacao noted, opening the door more.

"Rest assured father, there's nothing wrong. Perhaps it's leftover from my earlier pneumonia case," Dark Choco dismissed.

"Right. You still have a few doses of your medication," Dark Cacao nodded, before leaning against the doorway. "By the way, have you seen Red Velvet this morning? Crunchy Chip said he wasn't in his chambers."

"No, father! He's certainly not here, since I've been asleep the entire time," Dark Choco lied through his teeth, horribly.

"Very well. Breakfast will be served soon, so don't take too long, my son," Dark Cacao hummed before taking his leave, shutting the door behind him.

When Dark Choco was certain that his father was gone, he sighed in relief and removed the blanket and pillow. Red Velvet gasped as he sat up on his elbows.

"What was that for?!" Red Velvet exclaimed.

"Do you have any idea how my father might react to you in my bed?! Sharing a bed before marriage is frowned upon..." Dark Choco grimaced.

"You worry too much. And I thought you said that was an old and abandoned tradition," Red Velvet pointed out confused.

"Well I'd like to maintain my dignity around my father," Dark Choco huffed.

"So when your father isn't around, I can degrade you all I want~?" Red Velvet purred.

"Velvet!" Dark Choco exclaimed, shoving Red Velvet off the bed.

"Worth it!" Red Velvet laughed, hanging off the bed and his back on the floor.
