Work Text:
I forgot what it feels like to be a real person. To exist without being a burden.
To get through a day without shrinking inside, To set down the need to retreat and to hide.
To talk without measuring each word I speak, To let my own thoughts find just one moment of peace.
To feel something that is wholly my own, Not the echoes of roles I was pushed to have grown.
To loosen these chains I was taught to revere, To move without asking permission from fear.
To be- just to be, To be myself, and finally, free.
