Chapter Text
143 days.
It's been 143 days since Planetlord had last seen the player with the username "jjdawg18", he'd be counting every single day, hoping that one day he wouldn't have to count again. It's kinda pathetic putting hope into some random player who joined his server through some stupid bot, but really— he missed the person he'd messed with for such a long time.
The screen on Planetlord's phone lights up, his photoshoot of the night sky in his wallpaper showing up as it displays the new notification that Planet had just gotten.
He grabbed the phone, opening the notification to open his groupchat; "Bubble Guppy Trio" was what had triggered the notification to appear. He'd put his other elbow on the table, the soft fabric of his galaxy-coloured hoodie brushed against his skin as he scrolled over the log of messages.
"Hey, I know it's late at night rn, but are you guys up for like a game or two? I am very bored." Spoke sent in the group chat. Planet hovered his heterochromatic eyes to the time stamp on his screen, 01:24 AM, it showed. He had not realized just how bad their sleep schedule has gotten ever since he touched the game Valorant, they should really get off that game. After a few seconds, Mapicc had replied to Spoke's invitation with a "Sure, is @PlanetLord coming?". He'd pause a few seconds before replying to them, "I am. I'll join you guys :D" He sent. He immediately put his phone down on the bed and turned to sit on his chair, booting up his PC to play the game.
The trio had consistently been playing Minecraft Hypixel on every hangout they had online, though sometimes altering between other multiplayer games, Minecraft has always been a shared interest between them. It was perfect for them to play that game altogether so frequently, over time they had just stopped discussing on what game they were going to play, it had turned into an invite and an immediate opened Minecraft launcher on their PC. That was the kind of friendship they had, one that was consistent enough not a single person needed a word from any of them to understand each other.
Planet joined Spoke and Mapicc, greeting them with a few crouches and jumps inside the game. It wasn't long until the game Bedwars had started and they had teleported into the map, the trio was fortunately in the same team— The Red Team.
Planet and Spoke went together to The Blue Team, it felt a bit off, like he'd noticed a username he recognized. Something that had the number 18? Spoke already pushed them off the map and broke their beds. They still haven't taken a closer look at the username, maybe next round he could focus on it better. Still, it felt like it mattered so much to them that he had to find out.
The next round started, Planet wanted to build around the bed while Spoke and Mapicc went first to attack the other team's beds. Although, while building— a player had hit him from the other side. Planet had turned around to fight back, but instead he focused on the username of the player,
jjdawg18?
"What?" Planet uttered out just a small voice, jjdawg18 had stopped attacking, even though there wasn't anything preventing him from doing it. Planet heard a small chuckle, a shitty mic that his friend had, but he giggled back at that sound. A train of thoughts flooded Planet's mind on what to say, "Hi, it's nice to see you again?", "It's the first time I'd hear your voice.", "Why did you never log on again?", he had never been so indecisive of words.
But instead, he was just greeted with jjdawg18 saying "Yo, wassup".
Really? Is that all he has to say?
Well, it's not like Planet was mad either. It was funny to him that those were the first words he'd heard again after not seeing him again for such a long time, that was all he missed. "Hi, it's you." Planet crouched, "It's me." His friend replied. "So like, can we continue the game?" His friend spun his avatar around while waiting for Planet's answer, Planet immediately equipped his sword and pushed jjdawg18 off the map. What he hadn't noticed was that his bed was already broken, and in about 5 seconds after that, Planet was pushed off the map too and he'd lost that round.
Planet would hear Spoke crashing out over losing the round to Mapicc and him, but he was also smiling because he'd just met his friend again. This time it wasn't his own server and it wasn't jjdawg18 hacking into it, but they truly met by fate, like the universe knew they needed to meet again.
Planet noticed that his friend was in the lobby currently, so he walked away from Spoke and Mapicc, they didn't question it at all, Planet knew they wouldn't. They trusted each other, so he didn't have to worry about leaving them alone suddenly.
"Oh, hi dude." jjdawg18 waved, Planet returned the friendly greeting to him, "Hey, uh.. so, do you have like, any social media that we can talk through?" He asked after getting to a distance where they could both hear each other. It took a while before jjdawg18 replied, they first nodded, Planet wanted to immediately ask what their username was, but his mere thoughts were cut off by his friend— "I do, but if you can beat me in 3 rounds, then you can get it. But if you don't even beat me once, I'm not giving you answers." Planet could've sworn he heard the smirk in his friend's voice, he sighed at that offer, but he agreed reluctantly. Not like he had an option to say deny, but he didn't mind it anyways, it was just as same as the first time they had met. And he missed the fun in it.
"Okay, bet bro." He replied.
