Inside this world, vocaloids are only appealed to be a species where all they do is sing. They’re enslaved to sing, or else death will wait at their doorstep.
One day, Gakupo stood still beneath the artificial leaves, glancing at the people around him. In white outfits, having fun. Momentarily, a blue haired boy, KAITO ran past him, chasing after a crown of Red Anemone. His gaze lingered for a moment, turning and watching him run into the dark tunnel. It was love at first sight. Gakupo wanted to do something – anything, to talk to him! But instead, just stood there, watching him get the flowers off the ground.
KAITO felt a set of eyes watching him behind his back as he picked it up. He leaped up, going back to the garden, passing by the purple-haired boy one last time.
As soon as he left, Gakupo knew it. It was his ideal lover. He wanted him.
Badly, too.
Years of being alone, watching other kids play and have fun. Watching how closely Meiko and Luka interacted with each other.
Gakupo wanted that.
Then, he started following him, the grass between his feet making a soft rustling sound.
KAITO ran up the hill, meeting Luka.
“Luka! I have your flower crown!” KAITO cheered, putting the circle of anemone on her head. She giggled, while MEIKO pouted a bit from the affection, even if it was platonic.
Gakupo watched from the bottom of the mount. His suspicions raised. Did he…Like Luka? Well, it made sense; she had gorgeous hair, a calm voice, social, and kind. Who wouldn’t like her? He was close with her, after all. But he had to admit, he was jealous.

Gakupo entered a near-restricted area of the white hallways. It had a soft neon cyan light as he walked. He heard a loud wail earlier, that sounded a lot like KAITO’s too.
He opened the door. Inside the dim room, heaps of wires were surrounded around KAITO, who was basically in a straight jacket. The line of light gave him this desperate look on his face. Gakupo walked closer, until he was standing just a foot away from him. He crouched down until their heads were on the same level. The purple haired man grabbed his chin, seeing KAITO’s calm and unconscious look on his face. Carefully, he put his hand behind the bluenette’s head, and clicked it, unlocking the clasp on his neck, then, he left him alone, leaving the forbidden area to not be found by the aliens.
KAITO soon woke up from passing out. He looked around him, the door now slightly ajar. He pushed his body forward, watching the choker slip off of his neck and crackle on the ground.
Oh?
‘Was that me who did it or did someone else do it?’ He asked himself. Soon, his personal dictator came into view.

Day to day, as they grew up, while everyone else was out, having fun, KAITO was secretly stuck with his guardian on late nights.
He stood next to his guardian, watching everyone else of other species eat the food on the table like wild boars finding food source, while he was singing for their entertainment – he didn’t even want to do it, but still did because he knew what the consequences were. Himself was at thought of eating too, his mouth salivating inside but didn’t dare to show it.
Suddenly, one of the guests threw a portion of sloppy food, just missing him. They stood up, his head got yanked to turn around and look down, to look at the ‘Missing’ poster as he gripped the table beneath him to hold himself back any further.
Luka?
She’s missing?
At this point, his head was all over the place. He was being harassed by his owners and guests, Luka is missing, and he didn’t get the chance to eat anything.
The entertainment event soon ended. While the other species left, KAITO had passed out from it, his head against the huge armrest, like he was meant to rot there. Gakupo opened the door. It was basically a common event for him at this point; having to remove the restraints on KAITO. He didn’t hesitate to unfasten the object. Additionally, he stayed for a few seconds just to protect and watch his quick breathing and sweating down his face. They looked like tears to him. His hair was tossed and tussled, soft, temporary dents in his head from the nails of the owners.

Years passed like seconds, and before they knew it, they were up against each other on the stage. KAITO was standing on this stage, vibrating on the spot. He didn’t want to die, he watched MEIKO had got shot on stage while going against Luka. While Gakupo? He was also a bit frightened, but not as much as the blue-haired boy going against him.
As the minutes went on, the song had come near the end. The water already has their clothes half damp because of the raincloud above them. Gakupo looked at the man across him for a moment, before dropping the microphone onto the stage, reciting a ringing sound throughout the stage. Gakupo came up to KAITO, gripping the back of his head and pushed their lips against each other.
KAITO tried to pull away from it, but Gakupo only kept going. He wrapped his arms around him, not completely cutting him off from the air, but hiding his neck from the crowd.
He knew It all.
Hiding his neck would give them less of an advantage to kill KAITO.
Gakupo gave one last kiss to his lips, their touch remaining while he watched the final scores appear before pulling back and looking into his sea blue eyes. They were captivating, the eyes that wanted to look at him as a kid is finally returning after years of unrequited love. KAITO closed his eyes gently. He thought he was going to die, one way or another. But—
BANG!
A bullet left the barrel from the crowd, hitting a major nerve in Gakupo’s neck with precise aim. But it didn’t stop him, he left his hands rung around his neck.
Then another one.
It got through Gakupo’s side, leaving a rip through the cloth and skin. The crowd was in disbelief, he was still standing?
They tried again.
A shot got to his shoulders. The blood dripping down his white clothes and his tan skin. Gakupo coughed blood between his lips, dripping down his chin to blend in with the water beneath. He smiled one last time, feeling his body losing it’s senses. The taller male removed his hands from KAITO’s neck, causing the bluenette’s eyes to bolt open. But all he saw?
Gakupo falling to the ground.
KAITO was still holding onto his own neck, like his ghost was still choking him.
He cared for Gakupo, what the hell just happened? —
KAITO stood by him, watching the blood flow neatly into the water.
