Chapter Text
Mobius struggled with a cumbersome box as he hefted it into the back of his small car. He sighed in annoyance as the bottom spilled out with his items, this box was going to be the end of him. He squatted down as he collected his items and threw them into the already torn box in the back of his dad’s old AMC gremlin.
He sighed as he finally got the last box into the broken down car he has to drive for hours straight so he can arrive safely at his brand new university. He was going to make lasting relationships there and he wasn’t going to mess it up this time. At least he hopes for a good one or two.
Loki collects everything he needs for university, he had three boxes and one bag. One of the boxes was just two changes of sheets and a pillow his mother had gifted him. In the other was one desk decoration, a tiny worn out gold key heirloom, two posters one of a band he liked the other of a movie he was interested in, and lastly a few notebooks, pencils, pens, and school stuff like that.
In the third box was all of his clothes, nothing to interesting. One dressy outfit, several changes of casual clothing and pajamas. In his bag was just his personal important items like his phone, laptop, chargers, hair products (he doesn’t play around with his soft waves), and finally a jade green scarf from his mother.
Surprisingly, he didn’t live to far from the university, only about a thirty minute drive from his house. So, he packed everything into his Ford and slumped into his drivers seat. All he hoped is that he had a roommate that didn’t bother him 24/7. Mobius groaned as he dragged the last box into his dorm room, his roommate hadn’t arrived yet. He threw all of his stuff on a random side of the room and started unpacking. He started with putting the bedding on his mattress which was a sea blue color, he threw the pillows back onto the bed and dropped to the bed.
The door knob jiggled as the key was inserted. Loki dragged his three boxes through the door as his bag slumped off his shoulder. He scans the room and sees his dorm mate already here. At least he doesn’t need to make the decision of which side he wanted now.
He throws his bag on his bed as Mobius looks up from the loud noise of boxes being dragged around.
“Oh, hello! You must be my roomie! I’m Mobius, what’s your name?” He greeted Loki warmly.
“You sound like a dog’s squeaky toy. Shut up.” Loki groaned as he hung his two posters up over his bed.
“I apologize, I just wanted to get to know-“ Mobius’ wandering tone is cut off by Lokis glorified remarks.
“Stop trying to get to know me, if you haven’t noticed already, I’m unpacking.” Lokis annoyed tone responds.
He places his key family heirloom on his nightstand next to, well nothing else really but some school notebooks and his laptop. Mobius gets curious on why his roommate is so closed off against talking.
“Why don’t you like questions? What’s your name anyways, and what are you majoring in? You seem like the kinda guy who’d major in literature. Is that what you’re doing?” Mobius asked repeatedly.
“That’s nothing of your business. But, I guess because we’re sharing a dorm I’ll tell you my name and major. I’m Loki and I’m majoring in psychology. Don’t you dare say anything about how I’m named after a god. Just don’t alright?” Loki rambled.
“A psychology major? I guess that could suit you. And your name is Loki? That’s a really cool name! I’m majoring in criminology!” Mobius exclaimed as he tapped around.
Loki wasn’t paying attention until he said what he was gonna major in.
“You? A criminology major? Your gonna deal with crimes? Alright, that’s definitely fascinating with your personality.” He was definitely a bit flabbergasted.
Mobius and Loki sat in their dorm room, and Mobius couldn’t help but wonder why Loki was so closed off and against sharing anything interesting about himself.
“You’re quite a defensive guy. Would you like to share why?” He asked and that annoyed Loki like a starving cat when it never stops meowing.
“No I would rather jump off of this building than share anything with you.” Loki answered as he typed on his computer.
The two sat on their beds for the rest of the night. Loki couldn’t help but notice how Mobius’ eyes shined in the moonlight. But he couldn’t think about that. What are you thinking!?
