Might Guy Stupid

Summary:

It's Might Guy stupid, maybe.

Notes:

Disclaimer - I don't own My Hero Academia or Naruto. This is written for the second Froday regular challenge for May 2026. The prompt is stupidity, which I wouldn't call Might Guy stupid, but more of dense when it comes to certain things, but that's why we love his character, right? And I just--well, couldn't resist this one.

Work Text:

“I am here!”

“Eh?”

One of Dabi’s eyes twitched, staring at the teen in a green jumpsuit who just crashed through the wall, striking a pose quite triumphantly, and—

“You’re not All Might.”

The man with bushy eyebrows stared, and then, “But I am Might Guy.”

“No, no,” Dabi said, waving his hand. “You are not All Might.”

“No, I am completely and entirely Might Guy!” the teen said, and then he stood there, one foot on the rubble he created, peering around the roof. “I was told a teen with silver hair came in here, but you are not Kakashi?”

“Who?” Dabi asked.

“My rival!”

“Uh,” and then, “Are you some kind of idiot?”

“Yes!” the other teen said, giving a thumbs up, grinning ear to ear with his whacked-out bowl cut, bushy eyebrows, and awful green tracksuit. “I am!”

“That would explain why you burst through the wall of my hiding place with your Quirk,” Dabi muttered, glaring, eyes narrowed.

“Yush!” the guy said. “But what is a Quirk, and who are you hiding from?”

“What is…” Dabi stared, and then, “Endevour.”

But as if on cue—

A shiver ran down his spine, as just his luck, the hero who showed up on the scene was in fact Endevour.

“Endeavor,” the teen in green said. “We should endeavor as shinobi to train hard, so we do not fall in battle.”

“Excuse me?”

Dabi watched as Endevour’s eye twitched, arms crossed, flames everywhere, and—

He felt like shitting his pants, staring at the man, yet he’d not yet managed to dye his hair.

“Oh! Hello, sir!” the man said, turning to look at him. “I am looking for my rival! We got pulled into this world from ours and got separated in the process!”

“Excuse me?” Endevour asked, then he looked at Dabi.

Dabi glanced away, shrugging, looking for a Quick exit.

“You’re not allowed to use your Quirk in public without a license,” Endevour said, his attention turning to this Might Guy person.

“What is a Quirk?”

“What?”

“I am not familiar with this Quirk you are referring to? Is that like Kido?”

“I, what?” and then, “What kind of game is this? Kido isn’t a Quirk.”

“It’s not a game.”

“I will have to take you in,” Endevour said.

“And here the idiot will go and try to fight…”

“Okay!” Might Guy said.

“I, what?” Endevour said. “You what?”

“I’ll be taken in for interrogation, but I will not give any information, no matter how much you torture me.”

“Okay. Enough with the games,” Endevour said. “Both of you…”

“I have nothing to do with this All Might wannabe,” Dabi croaked out, and then covered his mouth, eyes to the ground—too much attention. Already, too much attention has been drawn to you. Fuck that.”

Endevour glared. “You are in obvious need of medical attention.”

“Am not!” Dabi snapped, eye twitching, glaring at him. “Why? Why did he have to…”

And then Endevour was staring, and for a moment Dabi thought he’d been found out. His nostrils flared, and then he pulled out his phone. “Kido?”

“Kido?” Might Guy said, becoming interested.

“I’ve a young man in need of medical attention, but I think it would be best if a sidekick without a fire Quirk gives him a look over.”

Toya’s hands clenched, eyes still looking for an escape when—

Kido showed up, the bandages being familiar, and—

The man looked right at him, eyes narrowed. He stepped over, frowning.

Endevour looked up. “Kido?”

“Yeah. Those burns look pretty bad, kid,” Kido said, eyes still narrowed.

“Oh!” Might Guy slammed a hand into his fist. “You’re named Kido!”

“Yes?” Kido said, not batting an eye. “Kid?”

“Not a kid,” Toya said firmly, trying not to look the man in the eye, hands clenching at his sides.

“Are these burns?” Kido asked. “Did you do them yourself?”

“You think someone would purposefully burn themselves!” Toya snapped. And yet stupidly, he had. Toya had burned himself, but he felt Endevour’s flames fail.

“Kido?”

“Sorry. I shouldn’t have said they were on purpose,” Kido said, “But those burns? They are from your Quirk, right?”

Toya felt his eyes widen. “Oh? He…”

“Toya?”

Toya’s head snapped up, eyes widening in horror as he—

Endevour looked right at him, pity in his eyes, and then. “It is you, isn’t it?”

Toya’s head turned, looking for an escape, but then, stupidly, he tried bolting, only for someone to grab his arm. “Let go!”

“But they’re worried about you.”

Toya stiffened, turning to see Might Guy grabbing his arm, and—

Stupidly, he lashed out with his flames only for Might Guy to dodge, while—

“Toya! Stop!” Endevour said. “You’re hurting yourself!”

“I got him, boss,” Kido said, and—

“Let go!” Toya said, Kido, having grabbed him from behind, holding one hand while Might Guy helped by holding his other hand. “Let go!” He shuddered. “Of course it wouldn’t be him.”

“Kiddo,” Kido said. “Endevour can’t come near you when his flames are out.”

Toya let out a sob.

“Did you not realize?” Kido asked.

“He could have said something!” he clenched his eyes shut. “Don’t cry. Don’t cry, stupid. You’ll self-combust, so you need to cut off your emotions.”

“Right,” Endevour said. “You’re not wrong. But please?” The man’s voice strained. “Please stop. Stop burning yourself.”

Toya withdrew his flames, taking a deep breath that sounded like a sob, before saying, “It’s my Quirk.”

“I know,” Endevour said. “I know, and if I could fix things,” and then, “But I can’t.”

“I feel so stupid,” Toya thought to himself. “So stupid. He brought Kido in because he couldn’t touch me. And…”

“We’ll get you checked out and get you home,” Endevour said. “You’ll be able to see your siblings then, and your mother? I’ll arrange for you to see her as soon as possible. But please. I don’t want a repeat of Sekoto Peak. That…” He paused. “I couldn’t get to you.”

“You…” Toya frowned. “He came? But…” He closed his eyes. “I feel so stupid.”
