Memoirs of a Revenant

Notes:

started writing this in a fit of inspiration, and frustration at the lack of zoruakari fics.
Hikari, champion of Sinnoh and hero of Hisui, has died alone and unburied in the snow. Ambushed by a renegade god seeking revenge, slain before she even knew what was happening. The only thing on her mind before that was her hatred of the life she had lived.
And those that die with anger in their hearts and are left unburied, do not find rest in death.

Chapter Text

I hate having to wait. It's something I picked up from Barry, no doubt, even if my patience was a little better than his. Not like I have a choice in the matter. I have to get back home somehow, and the only option I have is to wait out the decades, feeding on any unlucky starly or bidoof that cross my path. It's… unsettling, how relatively little time it took for me to get used to hunting other Pokémon, to killing.

Five years may have sounded like a long time to me before then, but at the age I am now, it's nothing. At least back then I still had Ingo with me. Then, Arceus took him back to our time, the time I'm waiting to return to. I don't get why They decided I shouldn't go back with him. Do They still need me for whatever disaster gets thrown at Hisui next? Did They think I deserved to wait all these years, for the simple crime of dying at 16? Did They not take me because I became a Pokémon after that? Do They just hate me? Did They just forget about me?

Whatever. That was over a century ago, now. I finally saw Rowan again last year, though it took a while to connect this young great-great-grandson of Kamado to that old professor who first introduced me to piplup. The fact I'm finally starting to see people I can remember again means I'm getting closer to home, but it's just making the wait that much more agonizing.

61 years and 149 days left, before I can finally see Mom again. Here's hoping she'll be able to handle her daughter having become a centuries old ghost type.
On that note, I should probably practice my illusions more, and get back to training in the next few decades. Even if it means being mute and unable to carry or move things without Extrasensory, I don't really feel like evolving. Not for another few centuries, at least.

Distortion, has my view of Time been thrown off by all this.
