Work Text:

A sunny day… A day that seemed like it would be pretty laid-back… And what could a couple do on a day like this?

Sure, head to the beach to hang out.

“Oh yeah! We’re here!” A very excited Finn stepped out of the van he’d happily driven. “This is going to be FIN-tastic! Right, Goob?”

As the passenger door swung open, Goob, with his sharp smile, stepped out holding Barnaby’s fishbowl—Finn’s beloved fish—in his arms.

“Hehe, let’s go!” he said as he gazed at the crystal-clear water and the white sand. “Wow… This is so beautiful! Glisten! Glisten!”

He walked quickly to the back door where his other boyfriend was, opening it so he could get out too.

“You have to see this!... Huh? Love?” When Goob opened the door, he found Glisten with a very strange look on his face; he was wedged between the bag and the towels, looking absolutely terrible compared to the other two.

“I will never… NEVER… let Finn drive again…” he blurted out with a dramatic tone in his voice, as he took Goob’s hand to get out of the car.

Finn immediately grabbed Glisten’s folding chair from the back of the car, unfolded it, and offered it to his boyfriend. Glisten gladly accepted, sitting down on it.

After a few minutes, during which both Finn and Goob had unpacked their things and organized them (Glisten helped too, but only by making sure the towels on the sand were neat and not wrinkled), the two were ready in their swimsuits, slathering on some sunscreen to protect themselves from the sun.

Glisten lowered his sunglasses a bit, watching his boyfriends as they continued to apply the sunscreen, a smirk on his face.

“Wow… I guess it wasn’t a bad idea to come,” he said to himself, relaxing in the folding chair, trying not to bite his lip as he watched them both. He settled into his seat, picking up a book and placing it on his lap.

He could see them both approaching, setting the sunscreen down near Glisten.

“Are you coming with us?” Goob asked. One of his long arms set the sunscreen aside, looking at his boyfriend with a small, tender smile that the mirror seemed unable to resist.

“Aww, thanks for the offer, but…” He lifted the book in his hands, moving it slightly. “I’d like to have a few minutes to finish this book that Brightney recommended to me—it really seems almost perfect, just like me,” he said, opening it, settling in with one leg crossed over the other, and the book on his lap.

Finn and Goob exchanged glances before smiling at each other. With a plan in mind, they quickly approached Glisten—Finn from the left and Goob from the right—and just when the mirror least expected it, he received a kiss on each cheek from both of them.

“See you later! LET’S GO IN THE WATER! WOOH!” Finn shouted enthusiastically, followed by Goob, who was rushing excitedly toward the water.

The two left Glisten more than flushed; his sunglasses were slightly bent from the movement, and he could barely hold onto his book. He tried to fix his appearance, hoping it wouldn’t be too obvious that those kisses had left him more than eager for many more.

“The pair of idiots I hang out with…” he muttered to himself, before turning his attention back to the pages of the book so he wouldn’t have to think about that display of affection anymore.

As soon as they were near the water, Finn and Goob jumped right in, diving into it with pure delight. Finn was a better swimmer than Goob, so he wasn’t surprised to feel Goob’s arms wrap around his body as soon as they were a little deeper.

He turned to see Goob holding his breath, but he still had a smile on his face. After making eye contact, he could see Goob’s figure drawing closer to him, keeping his arms wrapped around Finn’s body, until little by little, their bodies were about to touch.

Finn immediately understood what Goob wanted to do; he returned the gesture and pulled his boyfriend close, bringing them together in a kiss even though they were still underwater.

Even though the kiss was normal, they both felt tingles travel through their bodies, wanting even more. It wasn’t until Goob’s grip tightened a little more that, unable to hold on much longer, he had to rush to the surface. Finn followed a few seconds later.

“What were you trying to do down there?” he asked with a chuckle, watching Goob catch his breath as the water lapped gently around them.

“Nothiiiing… I just wanted to kiss you a little,” he replied with a smile; his slightly pointed teeth were visible in that tender grin. “Does that bother you?”

Finn happily returned the gesture, swimming over to him and wrapping his arms around Goob’s waist, bringing them both very close together. Goob laughed playfully before kissing him again; his arms clung to Finn’s shoulders, finding support in him.

The kiss began playfully, and was followed by Finn’s tongue trying to push deeper into Goob’s mouth with some insistence. He was stopped shortly after by Goob himself.

“We’re still in the water, Finn… I think it’s best if we stop and leave it for… later?” he said, running his hand over his partner’s face, both of them smiling in anticipation.

“...Oh, okay, but you have to promise me we'll do it.” A few silly laughs escaped their mouths before they went back to swimming in the water once more.

Their passion took a back seat as they raced each other to see who was the better swimmer. Finn usually came out on top, but Goob wasn’t far behind; he’d simply cheer for his boyfriend when he won, without a hint of resentment.

“Hey! Do you think we should go back to Glisten?” asked the fishbowl, approaching Goob calmly, feeling the sun’s warmth on his body.

Goob seemed to think about it for a moment; one of his fingers unconsciously touched his chin, filling Finn with tenderness.

“Hmm… Sure! We should spend this afternoon with him; I don’t think Glisten would like the idea of being alone.” Goob moved his arms slightly, his body quite close to Finn’s. “Let’s go!”

They held hands while still swimming; they still had a bit of a way to go to get back to the shore, but they were swimming with big smiles that they shared from time to time as they exchanged glances. Some strange movements in the water alerted Finn, who turned to see a huge wave rising menacingly, very close to them.

“...” He was speechless; he grabbed Goob’s hand even tighter than before. “RUN!”

Goob didn't understand what was happening, letting Finn lead the way as he walked on the sand, unlike the fluffier one who was being dragged through the water.

The wave finally caught up with them just as it seemed they might reach dry land. It crashed down and swept them both away, leaving them literally underwater as they were flung directly onto the sand. Lying on the ground, still holding hands, they felt their mouths completely salty. Goob was the first to plant his forearms in the sand to steady himself, coughing violently and forcefully. Finn turned to look, finding that his boyfriend looked strangely very attractive that way.

The water returned once more but more calmly, flowing between their legs, causing their eyes to meet. Upon seeing each other, they couldn’t hold back any longer and burst into laughter.

“Haha! Finn, that wave almost killed us!” Goob tried to hide his big smile and those sharp teeth behind his hand, but he couldn’t hide his laughter, which was like music to Finn’s ears.

“HAHA! I KNOW, SWEETHEART! Can we kiss, please?”

“I thought you’d never ask.”

And they melted into a somewhat wild kiss again, almost as if they were the only ones on the beach and there were no other people around.

Glisten’s eyes remained fixed on the pages of the book; he was far more engrossed than he could ever have imagined. He hadn’t thought Brightney could recommend a book he’d actually like—one that wasn’t just pretty on the cover. He heard a splash in the chair next to him and looked over at Barnaby, Finn’s beloved fish, complaining in the only way he knew how.

“Ugh, get it. You CAN’T go swimming with them—if you get lost, Finn would basically stop living.” He spoke to the fish, closing his book and crossing his arms. “Am I talking to a fish? How stupid…”

A splash of water startled him; it came from the very same fish, which now had its head out of the water in a way that seemed strangely threatening to Glisten as he wiped the water that had landed on his face.

“Okay! I get it! Leave me alone.” His eyebrows furrowed downward, clearly annoyed that a fish could get on his nerves so easily.

But his stress didn’t last long, since in the distance he could see two figures running toward him with great joy, though somewhat clumsily because they were completely soaked and the sand was preventing them from moving properly.

“Glisten, you won’t believe what happened to us!” Goob was the first to arrive, throwing himself onto the sand on his knees, and he settled down happily next to his boyfriend.

“It was the funniest thing! I’d say it was a ‘turtle disaster’!” Finn managed to joke as he lay on his side on the towel closest to Glisten, smiling proudly.

And of course, the occasional drops trickling down their bellies didn’t help.

“What happened to you? You’re completely soaked…” The mirror had to hide the excitement building inside him, taking Goob’s hand—which was quite close to him—and caressing it tenderly.

“You should have seen it! We were planning to come with you after cooling off.” The mirror’s mischievous eyes followed where they shouldn’t have been looking. “And when we least expected it… Bang! A huge wave hit us!”

“A wave?” Glisten asked, now looking confused. “But how? Finn, you’re a really good swimmer.”

Finn let out a laugh, sitting down in the chair where Barnaby had been, taking Barnaby’s fishbowl and placing it on his lap.

“Let’s just say… Someone was distracting me a little…” he said, giving Goob an accusing look, who played dumb. “Well, it’s oh-fish-ial—no more kissing in the water. We’ve seen what can happen.”

Goob ended up laughing at Finn’s silly remark, while Glisten sighed at that kind of joke.

“I can’t believe it—I almost lost both my boyfriends to a wave…” Her free hand took Finn’s, repeating the same gesture she’d made with Goob. “Will I have to put something on them to keep them out of danger?”

They both laughed, moving a little closer. Finn set the fishbowl down between the towels on the sand, now standing almost right next to Glisten. He let the two of them stand like that beside him before starting to kiss Goob.

Since Goob and he were so engrossed in their own intimate “activities,” Finn decided he wanted to be a part of them too, even if just a little. He positioned himself behind Glisten, sliding his hands under the tank top she was wearing; the fabric made it easy to explore her body. While the other two were so focused on the kiss, Glisten, feeling Finn’s hands, ended up accidentally biting Goob’s lips, forcing him to pull away as he let out a moan of pain.

“N-Not here… There are too many people around…” he whispered to the two of them in a pleading tone, smiling when they both stopped at his request. “Maybe when we get back… we can do something…”

The anticipation made Finn smile, and even though Goob’s lip still hurt a little, he also celebrated and hugged Glisten tightly, wrapping his arms around him and trying to make room for Finn to squeeze in as well.

“A sleepover! It’ll be so much fun!” he said happily, hearing Finn’s slightly silly laugh on the other end.

Glisten felt their wet bodies press against his, undoubtedly leaving his clothes damp. Under normal circumstances, he’d be pretty annoyed if someone did something like that to him, especially on a special day. But he knew neither of them meant to do it.

“Let them be happy, Glisten… It’s just clothes; not everything has to be perfect today…” he thought to himself, hugging them both even tighter and drawing them close with a broad smile—one he rarely let himself show.

The sun was about to disappear from the sky, allowing a few rays to shine through one last time before the dark night fell.

Glisten drove Finn’s truck much more calmly than its owner did, cruising down a quiet road with no traffic to hinder their journey back to the small home the three of them shared.

He glanced in the rearview mirror for a second, watching as the two lovebirds slept practically on top of each other. Finn was sitting in the seat, snoring loudly, and Goob was lying next to him, his head resting on Finn’s shoulder, a thin trickle of drool escaping from his mouth as he snored too, though not as loudly as Finn.

Seeing that made Glisten have to hold back a laugh that was about to escape him, but he also felt his heart melt with so much love seeing them like this.

“Pfff… What would I do without you two? Silly men,” he said, turning his gaze back to the road, driving and hoping to arrive as soon as possible so he could be with them both.
Loving them more and more every day.

Notes:

Heyyy how are you all

I know this ship is weird—I mean, REALLY weird. I don't remember seeing anyone talk about this couple, but I thought, “Why not? They look cute together,” and I ended up getting attached to them.

I made this because of so many things that have happened to me lately, I wanted to write something other than fruitcake (I’m still doing on my other works, don’t worry), and this made me feel really happy. I might do more with the three of them together or separately—I don’t know, but I like it :)

I know it's VERY short, but I already have lots of other ideas in mind.

I hope you enjoyed it, take good care of yourselves!!!
