like a jar that needs to be filled

That time Coco wanted to be lovey-dovey but Agott's too stubborn.

Work Text:

"I'm home~"

Coco drops the hefty baggage by the door. Her eyes then found Agott, who has her signature look as she crossed her arms. "Welcome back. I take it you finished the job without any hitch?"

Coco smiled before approaching her as she held out one of her hand, to which Agott naturally holds it with hers. "You're supposed to be asking for me first, you know."

Coco brought Agott closer by her other hand on the back of her waist. "And I should be getting a kiss first—"

Before she could sneak in a peck, Agott immediately blocked it with her hand. Coco only pouted in response as she sent her a questioning look.

"No, not right now. I've got a commission to do this afternoon," Agott said as she pried herself away.

"What? But we're about to get lunch, it's still early."

Agott only ignored her as she went to prepare for the said lunch. Coco's mood was about to drop before she saw a white worm-like creature scuttling towards her.

"Brushbuddy!" Coco exclaimed, now picking it up as she rubs her cheek into it. Brushbuddy made a happy squeak sound as it wrapped it's lower body on her neck. Then a handful of them came out from under the furnitures, some of them are black, as they approached Coco.

This right here is already a self-healing therapy, she thinks. As she let herself get swarmed by the brushbuddies' softness, she never noticed how the time passes.

By the time she came back to reality, Agott was tapping her feet. "Come, let's eat."

Coco then rose up as some of the brushbuddies flew off. She followed Agott to their table and soon saw her favorite pie, causing her to eagerly look at Agott.

"It's not like I baked it for you, I just hadn't found the time to eat when I made it 2 days ago." Agott only looked away, her hand at the back of her neck. A gesture that Coco could read as embarrassment.

Coco smiled at this, "Then shall I reward you with a ki—"

"No."

A firm rejection for the second time. Coco's Agottnium now's running low from this. She only drags herself to the table, a small pout on her face as they blessed the food.

Seeing Coco down, Agott sighed. "I'm not saying it's not allowed. I'm just saying not now."

Coco looked up, "But it's just a kiss..." she mumbled, unknowingly putting up a sad cat eyes. Agott, who's weak to this, only side-eyed her with a slight blush on her face.

"We both know how that ends, Coco."

Coco then realized. "And besides, I'll be late for the meetup if I indulge you," Agott said as she continues to eat.

By then, Coco noticed how Agott was already used to them being lovey-dovey, which consists of Coco doing the most because she likes it and Agott following it through because she's comfortable with it.

And the reason why Coco's Agottnium is on the low is because she had to be away for a week for the job she accepted, Agott couldn't come with for her own commission.

And now that she comes home, Agott will be the one who will go away. Coco unknowingly pouted at the thought as she finished plate. She brought the plates to the sink before an idea struck her as she twirled around to face her.

"Hey, Agott. Can I come with?"

Agott blinked in surprise, then dubiousness makes its way to her eyes. "Why?" she asked, now approaching the sink to put her own plate.

Coco smiled as she grabbed one of her hands, intertwining it to her own as she sent a peck. "It's been a while since we're together for a job," Coco said before twirling Agott around.

"Besides I'm free right now. Might as well accompany you, right?" Agott stopped herself before an arm snaked around her waist as she witness that sad cat eyes again.

She saw Agott hardened her face as she felt her hand on her face. "Wash the dishes then I'll think about it."

Coco's face beamed before she puckered her lips as she leans in. Agott took this chance to evade it as she pecked her scarred cheek, now prying herself away from her.

"I'll go prepare our stuff."

Coco touched her cheek as she rested her elbow on the other hand. Hm, I guess that counts.

"I didn't know you're volunteering in this," Coco said as she grabbed a bandage.

Agott accepted the bandage as she starts to wrap it to the wounded. "If I had let you know, lunch would be forgotten and fly straight in here."

Coco pouted, her hand unwrapped the old one changed to the fresh new one. "We could've eaten out here."

"My shift doesn't start until afternoon, and besides the last witches in here wouldn't have maximize their work if we're early," Agott lastly said before moving onto the next patient.

Coco finished knotting the bandages. The wounded thanked her, causing her to smile at him. She still haven't gotten over the fact that the feeling of being thanked as a witch still feels like the first time.

After tending to the people from the latest storm, Coco stared at Agott, who was currently conversing with the other witch, probably sharing details on the situation for the next shift.

She noticed how she would use her hand to visualize while looking at person the person she's speaking, how her voice carried confidence in what she believes, how her curly hair swayed by the cold breeze from the aftermath of the storm.

Oh, goodness. I really miss her.

She only covered her eyes with her palms as she let out a sigh. If she had known the last job would take a week, she wouldn't have accepted it. But I really wanted to be the first one to see it, she reasoned to herself.

But before she could go deeper to her thoughts, a shadow casting over her pulled her. Agott was already standing over her crouching form. Her eyelashes are longer than she remembers, along with that glassy lavender eyes. She's really beautiful.

"Feeling tired? You shouldn't have accompanied me just right after traveling home."

She held out a hand, which Coco reached out as Agott lift her up. Coco smiled as she circled her arms around her waist, her head rested on her shoulder. "And leave you out here on your own?"

"I'm not alone, and it's weekend tomorrow," Agott said as she pressed her cheek to Coco's head. Coco tightened her hold. "Maybe I just miss you that much."

Thankfully they're behind a tree so Coco could send a lingering kiss on her cheek, eliciting a hum from Agott. Then a longer one to her forehead, before moving to her other cheek—trailing small pecks towards the corner of her mouth.

Then finally, meeting her lips. Warmth bloomed immediately in her chest as she felt Agott's arms resting on her shoulders. With that, it felt like a dam releasing from her as she followed her instincts.

They don't usually do these things on the clock, but seeing how Coco couldn't resist—either from Agott's endearing demeanor or from being away from her way too long.

But before long, Coco was pulled out from her reverie as she felt Agott's hand pushing her gently. When she looked at her, Agott's face was angrily flushed red down to her neck, which was riddled with red marks.

When she met her eyes, it was dilated. She didn't even notice her own short breath apart from hers. The clutching from Agott's hand on her cloak snapped her out.

"A-Agott, I—"

She was then pulled as she felt a hot breath on her ear as it sent shivers.

"You really have a habit of making my job harder," she whispered harshly before pushing her off.

"Home. Now."

Coco's stomach did the somersault thing as she clumsily followed an agitated Agott back home. And just like that, she felt like a jar that needs to be filled that day.
