Chapter Text
One day, Izuku got sick.
I know what you're probably thinking; but everyone gets sick, that's normal!
Well, not for Izuku, it's not. He's only ever gotten sick once.
And this is the story of how it went down and entirely changed the way class 1A ran (albeit in a small way).

SUNDAY
"Hey Izu. What's up?" Hitoshi Shinso picked up the phone from his long-time friend, Izuku Midoriya.
"Hey Shi," Izuku sniffled. "Could you let Aizawa know that I'm sick? And that's why I might be inattentive in class?" he asked. Hitoshi blinked.
"I mean, yeah, sure, I can let Dad know, but why don't you just stay in the dormitories?" he asked curiously.
"I can't do that! I'll miss out on important content for our exam!" gasped Izuku with mock shock. What an utterly unthinkable suggestion.
"Okay, fine," Hitoshi pinched the bridge of his nose. "Well, at least stop doing things for your classmates? I know you like doing it, but you need to rest."
"But-" started Izuku.
"No buts. If you don't pinkie promise, I will tell Dad that you are too sick to come to class. And you know what happened when Bakugo tried," Hitoshi warned. Izuku shuddered at the memory. Katsuki had been tied to his bed for a week to stop him going to training while he was unwell.
"Fffiinnneeeeeeeeee," Izuku whined. "I pinkie promise I won't do anything for my class," he swore solemnly. Hitoshi nodded with satisfaction.
"Good. I will be coming by sometime today to make sure you eat something, okay?" the purple haired boy asked somewhat menacingly.
"Okay, okay. Text me when you arrive," Izuku smiled, and hung up the phone.
Promising not to do anything for the class was kind of a relief to Izuku. Ever since they moved into the dorms, Izuku has been getting up early and staying up late for the sake of his classmates. He would start his day at 4am, to get up and make breakfast for everyone. This would always include coffee and orange juice, and move through either muffins, pancakes, waffles, or something else hot ("Breakfast is the most important meal of the day," his mother would say).
He would then wait, and whoever wasn't awake by 7:50 (10 minutes before class) he would go wake up. Ofcourse, they didn't know it was him, they would just hear a knock on their door.
He would then go to class (and be late, obviously). Throughout class, he would answer whispered questions and give tips in training. He would always make sure people were eating their lunch. Quite a few times, he has had to comfort his classmates when he found them in a secluded spot (making him miss lunch).
By the time it was 11am, his energy was drained. But he couldn't let them lee that! So he would smile to make it seem like everything was okay. He forced himself to join groups, to make an appearance. Once he didn't, and when Uraraka asked, he just said he was tired. Ida lectured him on the importance of sleep, not mentioning that it was his nightmare that kept Izuku up the precious night!
Oh yeah, speaking of, at night he would go around and soothe those who were having nightmare. He had helped almost everyone in the class, so far. Once, he was up until 2:50am, causing him to only have 1 hour of sleep. Lets just say, One for All got a bit out of hand that day. He would help those who came to him late at night with homework, a project, whatever.
So, it was a very exhausting school week, every week. Weekends were much the same, but with cleaning the dorm. He knew it was his fault, for taking on these tasks and treating his fellow Hero students as if they were helpless lambs, but god, some of them were helpless... Once, he had been away for a week and came back to find the dorm literally burnt to the ground and everyone in shambles. Suffice to say, Izuku did not trust his fellow students.
Izuku sighed, and pulled his blanked that he had on him tighter. 'It's only 2pm... I'm sure it'll be fine to have a little nap, right?'
Izuku woke up later that night to find a steaming bowl of soup on his desk, and a note that read 'Thought you might need this. - Hitoshi'
