“dear life..” he mumbled his voice cracked as he spoke the last word, at his last seconds falling in the snow expecting to fall forward but the wind didn’t let him have his last seconds suiting him. The strong wind pushed him backwards and he fell, his eyes looking at the sky with snow falling his vision getting blurry until he closed his eyes and stopped breathing.

He felt like he just had a heart attack. Loud breathing noise filled the quiet place.
“What..?”
He looked around him, its the place two years ago when he just lost his best friend due to a conflict but never made up with him.
“Did i go back in time..? No.. was it just a dream?”
Still confused looking around him at this place his heart starts to ache.
“This is the place where me and kokichi ended everything.. and never had a proper conversation again. i never did anything at all after this. Why didn’t i?! I regretted it badly after. And I thought about it almost every night. Yet i never had the balls to go and talk to him again because it was just too late.”
The place was small and made of stone, it had three benches , a closed roof and three door openings(but no door). The place located at the start of a forest.
He got up and looked from the doorway, its two years ago before everything was beginning to fall down for him.
his navy blue hair was untaken care of. He stepped out of this place and headed back to town. Not knowing how to fix his friendship with his dear best friend. If he didn’t go back in time it’d take him so much time to realize that he wants to fix everything, to realize he’s missing kokichi. For him, he hasn’t seen kokichi for two years. While for kokichi he hasn’t seen him for just hours, but the conflict that started was in fact about him not caring enough and not spending enough time together. after everything shuichi thought that it was just stupid teenagers problems and it was not anyone’s fault.
Shuichi hurried to met Kokichi. for him now it didn’t matter solving the conflict, all it mattered that he is allowed to see kokichi now. His heavy clothes were annoying, his sword still there. It was dawn as he was walking fast to search for kokichi yet he was nowhere to be seen.
“Where could i find him?! I can’t figure out anything right now, I haven’t seen him in two years..”
“not to mention that i cant think about anything right now. I CANT THINK! How am i here?! How am I supposed to act normal?! Wasn’t i dead? Didn’t i die?”
Shuichi stopped walking in the middle of the street of town. and decided to just head back home and deal with everything tomorrow. Delaying everything possible was a really tempting choice now.
Next day is here. He forgot that he had to go to academy, he didn’t graduate yet not after he got back in time. he remembered he had to go by seeing a student in his uniform walk from the window. Apart from his work as a knight he still had to go to academy.
Everything felt overwhelming to Shuichi at the moment, especially the part where he cant stop thinking about Kokichi even tho theres so much going on in his mind.
He went to academy anyway accepting the fact that his life changed. Kokichi who uses a bow so different from Shuichi who uses a sword but they were so close to each other until they weren’t.
Shuichi walked slowly searching for Kokichi in the hallways of the academy, he doesn’t wanna make it obvious but he is just searching for him. There he is. Kokichi with his short purple hair in a ponytail walking in front of Shuichi. Shuichis heart trembled, beating so fast. his fingers are slightly shaking he hurried to him. He put his hand on Kokichis arm making him turn away, yet not able to speak anything.
He pulled him immediately to hug him so tightly. Kokichi didn’t hug him back immediately, he was so confused with what was the change that happened, whats wrong with Shuichi??
“Kokichi..” Shuichi said with his eyes watery.
Shuichi noticed how Kokichi didn’t hug him back yet.
“Listen! Im sorry about yesterday. I said.. what i said.. i mean everything i said, I just didn’t mean it i was just so pissed off, and i felt like you were talking badly about me.. not important. Kokichi, im sorry. You said i didn’t send any letters and thats how im ignoring you but i also thought you’re ignoring me because you never came to my class when i stopped coming to yours. But im not blaming you! It just happened okay? Both of us.. are just stupid.” Shuichi inhaled air after saying that in one go, his hands are on Kokichis shoulders gently.
“W-what..?!” Kokichi said, at first his expression was confusing but then it was just a pure big smile.
Here, Shuichi remembered what made him miss Kokichi so much when he never apologized in the past.. it was seeing his smile after talking to him for the first time in those two years. It wasn’t a conversation tho.. was just saying a simple thank you about something, that made Kokichi smile.
“Are you real?! Why are you finally saying that? But its okay i mean YEAH! everything is okay nothing bad really happened.” Kokichi said that with his voice slightly trembling but still smiling so big after.
“I just thought you’d really never talk to me again, you know?! I was so worried. I mean I knew you’d come back. But its just, seemed like you didn’t care at all” Kokichi said with his usual habit of maintaining eye contact.. wich bring Shuichi so much memories back.
Shuichi regretted how his past self acted.. Kokichi is right. He never spoke to him again in the time before he got back in time. But it was wrong that he didn’t care, he does he just never knew how to express it.
“I do.. i do care about you, I didn’t mean to ignore you and be cold or anything else. i just don’t know how to show it probably. Id say its just the way i am but its just the way i was cause i realize that im in wrong. So im trying.. to make up for all that happened, i miss you Kokichi”
Shuichi lowered his voice saying the last sentence.
Sniffles..
“KOKICHI?! Kokichi?! Why are you crying?!! Are you???”
“Just kidding, im not!” Its just that.. everything turned out so perfect..”
“which i never expected I just was- ”
“Negative thoughts just consumed me and i was so hopeless thats what i thought” Kokichi said.
Shuichi pulled him into a hug again and this time Kokichi hugged him back
“im sorry as well. i know i was at wrong at some things too.” Kokichi said secretly nuzzling against shuichis shoulder while hugging him. “No, its okay. Nothing bad happened.. right?” Shuichi softly smiled at him.
“We were both stupid” also shuichi
Then they walked together until each one of them head to their class.
… Shuichi opened the door of his class and a strong light shined.
Dark vision. Shuichi woke up and sat up immediately with a gasp. “Im in my bed..?”
“GoOd moRrNing!! You’re the first to wake up of all of them!!” Monokuma said.
“Huh..?”
“Hmm..” monokuma giggles “a sword user huh?! You have all high hopes compared to how weak your body is!”
“What? Where was i..?” Shuichi asked confused
“It was a virtual world based on another totally different universe! You’ll wake up once you do what you’re supposed to do based on your fake memory. Oh! Also there’s 80% possibility the person you saw there also had you in theirs!”
Shuichi speechless just trying to progress what had just happened and remember that fake universe he was ‘dreaming’ of.. he sat at the side of his bed having a light headache wich is kinda usual for him. He stared blankly for three minutes until he heard a sharp knock at his rooms door.
“Who knocks that loud..?!” Shuichi got up and opened the door just to see kokichi right in front of him breathing heavily like he was just running in a rush.
“Kokichi..?!”
“Hey! Just thought id pass by.” Kokichi said smiling and put his hands up behind his head.
“Pass by..? It’s obvious that you’ve been running..” shuichi hesitated to confront him for a moment but why wouldn’t he?
“Yeah, i was running Since i really love morning exercises!”
“…did you also have that weird ‘vision of another universe’ or some kind of dream?”
“So you did too? Anyway why am i still in-front of the door, don’t you wanna invite me? But i wont accept anyway cause i was heading to eat breakfast!” Kokichi started acting normally again, or was he acting normal from the start and it’s just me..?(shuichi)
“Alright, I’ll follow you too after some minutes.” Shuichi smiled and then he closed the door after Kokichi left. He is still having a weird feeling about this ‘dream’ was it controlled by monokuma? But he brushed it off for now.
