Work Text:
I stand upon this dusty floor
I stand upon this thought of mine
I watch a rose bloom
I watch as it finds a tulip
Jealousy ices over my mind,
but it melts immediately
because what's the point of pining
if one doesn't even achieve
the levels of beauty others can reach
I don't like when others stare
I don't like when you compare
Please look away
I'm a sun, you shouldn't stare
I blind those who dare
I need a Perseus to end my Medusa
Eye contact is my demise
I don't have anything to show
On the River Styx I flow
I wanna rip out their eyes
Please stop staring, I'm not a ruler
My own tells me I look disgusting
They tell me to wash up
It never helps anyways
I scrub and scrub
But more thorns adorn my face
I've given up on my looks
I've forgotten that books
of love, are just hooks
and chains, to kill those who don't look
exemplary
They always tell me
tell me I'm wrong
No mirrors tell lies to me
My mind just sits alone
The world is a lonely place
at least for me
The people want beauty
Beauty always wins
And I don't have enough of it, I'll never have enough of it
