Work Text:
The rain provides an almost too perfect soundtrack to the cosy setting, as the ever decreasing daylight floods in though the large window. Although the sky is grey, the room still feels bright.
It’s the shine Jakob radiates, Kevin thinks, as he pauses to truly appreciate the sight before him. Jakob’s world-saving smile isn’t currently present, but that doesn’t stop his light from shinning. Kevin is staring. He knows he is. But he can’t turn away. Jakob’s light has captured him. Jakob has captured him.
Kevin smiles, a big sloppy grin plastered on his face as he watches Jakob sitting on the sofa, guitar in his lap, strumming away.
The contrast is almost poetic.
“Kevin?” Jakob says voice as low as the setting winter sun behind him. It gently breaks the silence that’s now fallen between them, shaking Kevin from his swooning.
‘You’re beautiful’ Kevin murmurs.
“Sorry?” Jakob blinks.
Kevin blushes, “I said, it’s beautiful!” Kevin nods towards the guitar, hoping that the word matches Jakob’s melody.
“Oh,” Jakob starts, “erm, thanks! It’s a little something I’ve been on…”
“Show me?” Kevin says, happy for the distraction, and he moves to sit besides Jakob.
Rainy days can be pretty too.
