Chapter Text
This is Techmarine Telorian of the Ultramarine Tome Keepers. Following with my chapter’s tradition, I am writing about my experience and recommendations for combatting new foes since my… unwilling transfer into a new, realm… This realm is known by its inhabitants as Kivotos.
Note: I am feeling.. Strange. When I arrived, I feel like I am back in control, like I was being… controlled, since I fully became a battle-brother. I see how rotten the Imperium was, how it has performed many atrocities and how flawed it was. Despite these traitorous thoughts, however, the touch of the archenemy is missing, but instead kindness and empathy occupy the space they would occupy. I do not wish to immediately exterminate anything that isn’t human until they are a threat, and only as a last resort. I also somehow know that nothing from home has accompanied me, and won’t be able to follow. Nothing except the teachings of the Omnissiah, the true teachings, not the ones of the Adeptus Mechanicus. Knowledge is power, “Abominable Intelligence” doesn’t exist, only mistreated AI, inventing new tech is good. Normally I would’ve automatically buried those thoughts as much as I can, yet I instead find myself openly embracing them.
Now, onto Kivotos. This appears to be a planet-wide city made up of scholas. These scholas govern the lands under them. There are many, but I am going to describe the main 3, or, 3+1:
-Gehenna, made up of “daemon”-like students. Relevant organizations are Pandemonium Society, leaders, Prefect Team, enforcers. Their rule is anarchy, source of many criminal unauthorized “clubs”, and infighting between the leaders and enforcers.
-Trinity, made up of winged “angel”-like students. Relevant organizations are Tea Party, leaders, Justice Task Force, enforcers, Remedial Knights, Medicae, Sisterhood, Chuch. They are outwardly refined ladies, like the nobles back home. And like the nobles, they suffer from division and infighting.
-Millenium, diverse backgrounds. Relevant organization is Seminar, leaders. They focus on technological advancement, although they also have a focus on culture.
-General Student Council, diverse backgrounds. Not a Schola like the others, but the equivalent of a planetary governor. Divided into “departments” handling planet-wide security, medicae, culture… Person of Interest is President, total authority, personal legion, called “Special Response Team”, made up of squads named after animals, diverse backgrounds, able to act on any schola. Trained to be the best of the best.
Inhabitants: 2 types, “student” and “citizen”:
-Student, always female, can contain apparent mutations which may grant them limited abilities. All have a “halo”, which is active when conscious, deactivates when unconscious. Grants resistance. Death is associated with the breaking of the halo, which can only occur if extreme damage after the deactivation of the halo.
-Citizen, anthomorphic animals or automata. Although weaker than students, they can be knocked out and require extreme damage for death.
Both can be defeated via enough damage. Weakspots of the body remain the same: head for the quickest incapacitation, torso is the easiest target, limbs can make it harder to use equipment or move. Mutations can provide advantage such as: enhanced hearing, vision, extra limbs (tails can be used for combat, wing may provide the ability to glide or fly). Automata are weak to Electomagnetic Pulses, but won't completely die.
Note: Despite the possibility of death, I haven’t yet killed any, as I only knock them out. Unless they do something unforgivable, I will keep my hands clean.
Technology: advanced in some areas, backwards in others:
-Weaponry, despite their common use, is backwards. Stubbers are used by most of them, while rail, las, bolt and plasma are either prototypes or fiction to them.
-Other, is more advanced. Unlike Imperium or Mechanicus, modified humans aren’t used, but full machines with AI.
