Work Text:
Sigrika was locked in her room again, scribbling notes left, right and centre. Her desk almost looks like a war has just happen with several stacks of paper and stationeries scattered everywhere.
It was supposed to be a relaxing Sunday afternoon, where most of the students at Startorch Academy will take this chance to unwind and rest before a new week full of classes start again.
But for Sigrika, she could not find any reasons to slack off even on a day where nobody will come pining more expectations on her shoulders and start mentioning how she is a future Heliodic Six successor right to her face.
Everyone expect her to be at the top of everything. So it's only natural for her to make sure that those expectations will never turn into disappointments.
Right? At least that's what Sigrika believed.
Or she just doesn't want to be a failure. That can hurt even more than all the time and energy she spent everytime trying to improve herself so she won't let anyone down.
She let out a sigh.
Sigrika thought she can keep this momentum for a couple more hours. But she can feel her determination starting to crack slowly from the 3 hours spent just sitting on her desk.
And then, a small space inside her brain wishfully thought, how nice it is if there could be something that can distract her from all of this.
And there, her phone vibrated, with the WavesLine Messages notification broke the silence.
Sigrika grabbed her phone and saw a message from an all too familiar girl.
Denia.
Her heart skipped as she stared at the notification preview. Denia has sent a photo.
She quickly unlocked her phone with a lot of things racing through her mind. Knowing Denia, there are only two things Sigrika can guess about the content of her message. One, she pisses someone off on social media and shows her the receipt with that smug smile on her face which Sigrika can already imagine inside her head.
Or two, Denia is just being a little tease.
And Sigrika was secretly hoping for the latter.
"Siggy, what do you think of this new necklace?"
Sigrika felt her breath got taken away entirely in a split second. She stared at the picture Denia sent in their private chat. Sigrika tapped on the picture to turn it on full screen.
Denia perfectly snapped her chest area, showing the said new necklace which is in the shape of a pink full moon, dangerously hanging right on her cleavage. Her favorite pink coat still lazily draped off her shoulders.
Oh dear. Sigrika didn't notice how strong her grip was on her phone until it almost fall out of her hands.
Probably this is the distraction she has been waiting for.
Sigrika probably overthinking things sometimes. After several months of being friends with Denia, that girl is unreadable. She can say the meanest things but then her actions speak the total opposite. And some days, Denia will do things that make her feel some type of way.
Something that can make her knees weak and drop to the ground.
Denia probably just teasing her out of only entertaining herself since she knows that Sigrika can sometimes turn into a whole panicking mess. Denia probably thought that Sigrika was too innocent to be reacting differently whenever she sneakily puts her hand on her friend's thigh, or stands dangerously close from behind when Sigrika is sitting.
Little does she knows, how much Sigrika loves every seconds of it.
"You look pretty.."
Sigrika sent a quick reply before she ran out of her room rushingly. All the notes and revisions she was focusing on earlier left forgotten on her desk. All those expectations can wait, because when it comes to Denia, she is her biggest weakness.

"You look pretty.."
It has been 10 minutes Denia received that message from Sigrika. Every time she read it, a smirk playfully danced on her lips.
Well, hopefully that's a nice little distraction.
At this point of their relationship, Denia can already memorized Sigrika's usual schedule and she knows at this kind of time her friend probably so deep in her studies. A little distraction wouldn't harm anything, right? Sigrika would probably just blushes like she always did and take some time off to cool down.
Heh, silly little Siggy.
Just as she was about to take off her coat and get changed, she heard knockings on her door. She checked the time on her phone. It's about to hit lunch time. She didn't remember making any plans with anyone. Plus, Sigrika is the only one who always comes to her dorm room, especially unannounced like this.
It couldn't possibly be, right?
"Nia, can you open the door?"
Denia was not surprised to hear her friend's voice. She made her way to open the door and there stood Sigrika, trying to catch her breath.
"Sigrika, did you run all the way here?"
Denia pulled Sigrika into her room and closed the door. She got Sigrika to sit on her bed hoping that her friend can catch her breath.
"I'll fetch some water-"
"Denia."
Sigrika intentionally just trying to stop Denia, but her grip on her friend's arm got a little too strong causing Denia to lose balance and stumbled on top of her.
Realizing the position that they are in, Denia felt her cheeks burning. More after feeling Sigrika slowly wrapped her arms around her waist. "S-Siggy, what-"
"Shhh."
Sigrika had no idea what got into her that she just took the chance to leave kisses on the other girl's bare shoulders. Denia's reaction to it is something she definitely loves to hear more often.
And she will make sure to do this as her routine after her studies from now on.
