Light is kinda pretty. No, really pretty.
The way it reflects off Shiho’s bass, making a spot on it that sparkles and shines like ocean waves in the sun.
The way the window had a ray of light shining from it, cutting through the dusty room like a sharp blade.
“...eh, Shiho? Are you listening?”
It took Shiho a quick second to look up and realize where she was and who she was talking to. She wasn't one to get distracted, usually.
“Ah, sorry, Honami. What were you saying?” Shiho’s voice was precise and to the point, since she had to practice articulation for songs so often.
“Oh, it's no problem! I was just thanking you for practicing rhythm with me today.” Her smile was warm enough to make the gray haired girl's cheeks heat up.
Shiho turned away so as to not have the other see her pinkish face. “Mmm, of course, Honami. You are our drummer, after all. We need to make sure you're in top shape.” She faced Honami once more and smirked. “Though I wasn't too worried about that, honestly.”
Honami’s ponytail swished in the air as she flipped her face away, but not before Shiho noticed she was now the one blushing.
The drummer swiftly pulled her phone out as she said, “Ah, what time is, woah!” She made a face akin to a shocked puppy, which Shiho almost giggled at before covering her mouth. “It's 8:30 already, I should probably go home to get some studying in.. are you going to stay any longer, Shiho?”
“Uh, no. I probably should too.” The green eyed girl shuffled up her sheet music, and began zipping up the case to her bass.
“That's good. I've been seeing you doze off a bit lately, so I was hoping you could get more sleep soon.” Honami added, but not like a scolding mother, her tone was warm and filled with relief.
Still, Shiho couldn't help but tease her. “You sound like my sister,” she grinned before Honami’s drumstick clattered to the ground.
On instinct, Shiho went to grab it.
“Ah, you dropped your-”
“Oh, let me-”
They both bent down to reach the drumstick, as skin brushed against skin, Honami’s hand around the wooden stick and Shiho’s around.. her hand.
They froze.
And went very red.
Shiho quickly pushed an apology out of her mouth, but stumbled over her words. “S-sorry..” She looked away as she stood up.
“Er.. Shiho, stay still for a second.” The girl with the ponytail whispered as she stood up as well.
Before she knew what was happening, Honami's lips gently pressed against Shiho’s cheek. “I-I'll see you tomorrow!” The brunette spluttered, both drumsticks, sheet music, and her phone in hand. And with a few taps on it, colorful particles and shapes twirled around her as she disappeared.
Wait..
Honami's lips?
…
Against Shiho?
Before she could truly process what just happened, the door clicked open.
“Young love…” A familiar voice commented. Giggling could be heard.
“M-Miku! Luka! Were you watching–stop laughing!” Despite this, their laughing continued.
“Don't worry, Shiho, you'll figure this out eventually-”
“Just–ugh!” Shiho gathered up her things and opened up her phone to leave.
After the particles of color surrounded Shiho, Luka and Miku let out a sigh.
“Well, a deal's a deal. You owe me 50 bucks, Luka.” Miku smugly remarked.
“Damn it!” Luka complained.
