Work Text:

Lady Alcina Dimitrescu is many things, a powerful woman, a successful business lady, a mother, a daughter, the matriarch of the castle. Many tend to leave out though that she is a woman of her word. She doesn’t make promises she can’t keep, not to her daughters, not to the other lords, not to Mother Miranda, and certainly not her wife. So when she promised you that she would join you outside during a full moon, she kept her word, just like always. Stepping out in a coat despite not truly needing it, she looked around the castle grounds to try and find where you lurked this time. The castle is large and the grounds are no different, she crosses her grounds with ease as are the perks of being 9’6 and living in this castle for over a century by now. Her golden eyes flicked through the darkness, not even needing the moonlight to see anything.

“Dragă?”

Alcina’s voice cuts through the darkness, through the sound of crickets, hell even through the distant sounds of lycans rushing about on the most recent mission for Miranda and Karl Heisenberg. She knows you heard her, between your current heightened senses as well as how still the night is, it is impossible to miss. Soon she spotted you and merely clicked her tongue as a fond chuckle made its way out of her throat, not surprised to see your little spot.

She crossed over to you and looked up to your spot on top of her walls. “Come now, I told you I dislike you being this high up. Not after last time” Despite her words, Alcina’s voice was fond, affectionate even.

Her gloved hand lifts and runs through your fur before lightly tugging you down so you would be off from the side of the wall. The last time you were up there a lycan decided to try its luck and pulled you off it. The lycan didn’t make it but the attempt still gave Alcina a minor scare. Once you were down onto the castle grounds once more she took a second to just look you over, noticing the blood around your snout and claws. Alcina clicked her tongue once more before adding fondly as she took a handkerchief out and brushed it over your snout to try and clean at least some of the blood off. While she usually loves a good dose of blood, she recently drank so she isn’t as inclined right now. “Now just what have you gotten this time, Dragă?”

Based on scent alone she is assuming a deer or two but she knows you like to enjoy showing her your prey. So she merely waits patiently until you decide to bring her to your catch. It certainly wouldn’t be the first time you tapped into the local wildlife population. Bela, Cassandra, and Daniela also love a good hunt so in all honesty there is no harm and no foul. In fact the daughters would probably enjoy a new trophy thanks to the bones. Not to mention they sometimes use antlers for handles of their own designs. It keeps them creative so Alcina well and truly doesn’t mind, especially not when you bring fresh meat to the castle after you had your fill on full moons. When you began leading her, she simply kept pace and followed. Seeing the deer significantly sooner than she believed she would. This is the biggest one you have brought back home yet, a fully grown Carpathian red deer, laid out by the servant’s door entrance, its neck snapped clean in half thanks to your powerful jaws. Alcina had to restrain a laugh at the fact you specifically left it in front of the servant’s doors but either way it will be butchered for tomorrow's lunch and dinner by morning.

Although she is minorly surprised to see what remains of a wild boar, those usually don’t come too close to the castle thanks to her daughters hunting them constantly. It seems this one bit off a bit too much for its own good. At least you were fed...for now at least. If she didn’t know any better she might have assumed a lycan did the damage based on how dismantled it was but she was way too used to your style of hunting. Werewolves can be feral if they want to be, so amusement aside, she ran a hand along the top of your furred head and praised you fondly.

“My my my, what kills you got tonight. Very good my love, you always provide the best meat for us.” Alcina leaned down and pressed a kiss to the top of your head, leaving a lipstick mark on your fur.

“Did you run into trouble out in the forest, Dragă?” She worried softly, not pushing it but also wanting at least a head nod in response to the matter.

Mostly because she cares but also so she could notify her siblings and Miranda if need be. The village has been having some trouble with hunters the past few weeks so your wife couldn’t help but worry over your safety when she isn’t around to provide it. She doesn’t doubt you, not one bit, rather she just wants to ensure she won’t lose you to some stupid man-thing wandering about.

You shook your head and your fur out, some leaves dropping off from where they got caught by the creases of your joints and paw pads. Earning yourself a small yelp when your cold nose brushes against Alcina’s legs. Although she’ll never admit to the fact, she was much too proud.

Alcina spent the next couple of hours simply following you around the grounds, watching you in amusement as you zipped about her vineyard or hopping over the stone walls splitting her gardens into sections. Occasionally she sent you to chase a couple lycans off of the property but mostly she stuck by your side. The perks of not being human and able to skip sleep. Soon the sun came over the horizon and when you came to...the sight that greeted you was the red velvet canopy that lies above the bed. The curtains are still drawn and only slivers of golden light stretched across the bedroom. Showing the maids haven’t been in yet, or maybe they had and Alcina had just sent them away just to give you more time to rest. That familiar soreness lingers in your bones, that ache that resides before and after every transformation. The remnants of the moon’s effect on your body, so familiar and yet so irritating at the same time. At the vanity, Alcina was poised as usual, in a satin silk robe that showed off the perfect amount of her skin. She was finishing up the beginnings of her morning routine, her golden eyes finding yours through the mirror and she adjusted it so she could see you better.

Have a good night, Dragă?”

Notes:

Hope you enjoyed!

Dragă = Darling

Just in case anyone doesn't know!

Fun Fact!: The Carpathian red deer is an actual species in Romania and is the fourth largest deer species globally. Capable of growing to 1.5 meters and 300 kg or 4.9 feet and 600 lbs for my fellow Americans
