Work Text:
Sakura was alone in her house. She had just finished work. It's been weeks since she last saw Sarada. Sakura yawned her eyes felt heavy. She had just came back home from work.
"Maybe a quick nap wouldn't hurt much." Sakura layed on the couch in light slumber.
The air shifted to a warmp shaping into a portal. Sasuke came out of it. He was home. Sasuke scanned the house and saw Sakura sleeping soundly.
Sasuke walked passed her and went to the kitchen. He cooked the rice after rinsing it in water then added the tempura he saw on the fridge and wrapped it in seaweed paper. He shaped it into a triangle. It was a onigiri his favorite food. Most of his culinary skills were shaped for survival so taste really doesn't matter however this food was his specialty.
He put it on the table and went to Sakura. He leveled down his face facing hers. Sasuke nudged her trying to wake her up. Sasuke observed how Sakura eyes twitched, her breathing shifted relaxing her expression making it seem that that she was still in slumber.
Sasuke could read through her like an open book. He brushed his finger excusing the hairs strands that was blocking part of sakuras face. Sasuke traced her cheeks with his palm stoping at her lips.
Sakuras lips puckered slightly by his touch. Sasuke leaned, his face was inches away from hers.Sakura was expecting a kiss from her husband but instead Sasuke blow at her face.Sakura opened her eyes. So her husband knew she was awake all along.
"Welcome home Dear." Sakura smiled hiding her dissapointed expression.
"It's night where is Sarada?" Sasuke asked.
"She went on a field trip to the hidden mist weeks ago." Sakura replied.
"Oh."
Sasuke spotted Sakuras dense eye bags. Sakura had been working late and was exhausted from it. Sakura loves her job so she didn't mind it at all.
"You should rest more.. " Sasuke sounded worried. "I wouldn't want my wife collapsing from overwork." He added his tone was sweet.
Sakura felt her cheeks flush and felt a curve tugging her lips. She held her hand towards her chest."Sometimes when I feel lonely I think of you Dear. Wandering the world all alone.. it makes me want to try my best."
Sasuke sighed and poked his finger on her forehead. "I too feel the same." Sakura gave him a cheeky grin. Sasuke grabbed the onigiri on the table and handed some for Sakura.
"Eat."
Sakura took a bite and savoured the nice taste. She thanked Sasuke and finished eating.Sakura glanced at Sasuke while he drinks from his cup. He had a sharp jaw. His features were soft yet sharp. Sakuras eyes landed on his lips.
"I want to feel your lips." Sakuras inner thoughts accidentally escaped from her mouth. Sakura instinctively blocked her mouth with her hand. Sasuke almost chocked on his drink. Surprised by her sudden words.
"I meant .. uhh.. I want to fill you up on the trip Sarada was currently at." Sakura explained clearing her throat.
Sasuke heard it. If Sakura wanted to then he wouldn't mind. It was a win win situation for him too. The atmosphere between them shifted. Sasuke put his cup down and leaned toward her. His palm held her face holding her closer towards him.
"Dad?"
The couple froze. They were caught up in the moment that they forgot to detect the presence around them. They were an inch away from direct contact. Sasuke was the first to lean back while Sakuras cheeks flushed. Sakura turned towards the voice. Sasuke could tell who it was. Sasuke admired the moonlight at the window facing the opposite direction from where Sakura was looking at to hide the faint blush on his cheeks.
It was Sarada.
"Get a room guys!" Sarada commented. She was so embasssed to see her parents in the act. Sarada felt happy that her parents were being affectionate towards each other but the scene of them almost kissing made her cheeks burn.
