The closer he got to the ruins, the heavier his chest felt. The dread was almost too much, he could feel it strangling him. He marched on, eager to focus on solving his father's puzzle that didn't protect them. It took his mind off going home again.
The puzzle didn't take long and before he knew it, he was standing in front of it. What was left of his childhood home. Almost without his permission, his feet carried him inside. His heart clenched when he walked past where mom died. He needed to hurry, he could barely stand being here.
