It was finally the month you've been anxiously waiting for. It was the pride month. You've decided to come out to people around you starting from your parents in pride month 2 months ago. You were scared of everyone's reactions. You were scared you may have people around you that won't accept you as who you are. You were scared that people will just end up hating you but you didn't want that fears to stop you from being yourself. You wanted to shine bright proud of who you are. If it meant people will potentially hate you so be it.
You started to walk to the living room with renewed determination. You looked at your parents. They've been just doing casual things. Your dad watching TV and your mom is on her phone.
You inhaled and exhaled. "Mom dad we need to talk." You simply said, your voice serious and filled with determination. "What is it darling?" Your mother was the one reacting she put her phone down and your dad closed the TV knowing the conversation is going to be serious from your tone.
You inhaled and exhaled again. You couldn't back up now and you blurted out. "I am ____" (well the blank space is for you to fill up :)) Both your mom and dad's eyes widened they were taken off guard by your sudden confession. You suddenly felt both light and vulnerable. Light because you finally got it out of your chest and vulnerable because now they knew.
After your parents left their shocked state your mom was the first one to hug you and your dad soon joined in sandwiching you in-between. "I'm so glad you've decided told us darling it means so much to us that you've trusted us." Your mom quietly and softly said your dad nodding in agreement. "You're so precious to us and nothing can change that fact we love you." Your dad added and caressed your hair. You all stayed like that for few minutes relishing the moment.
After you were released from their hug you sat down next to your parents feeling very light. Your dad opened the TV back on and looked at you. "What do you say if we make this a family movie night." He said with a smile on his face. You smiled back and nodded.

Next day you woke up to find your pride flag on your table with a note next to it that says "happy pride month darling we love you. - your mom and dad" you smiled feeling loved and cared for.
