At the start, I lost my patience with Lilu pretty quickly because I didn’t understand her. I just knew I wanted her. Her behavior was unpredictable; mixed in with the action and the laughter, she still fascinated me.
Even though I understand her… meltdowns… come from extreme trauma, it doesn’t always make them a lot easier to take. But I see the patterns. If she’s scared, her response will be returned in orders of magnitude. If something’s hard on me, it can be absolute hell for her. It’s not an act. I’m trying to be calmer. I hope it’s helping.
