How do you convince someone that they have no rival?
Lilu has built Lillian into something she’s not. It’s partially my own damned fault because I wouldn’t shut up about her in the beginning. I always heard “don’t badmouth your ex,” so I thought I was doing right. Maybe I overdid it, was a little profuse in the praise. Called her “amazing” a few too many times.
Suddenly talking shit won’t fix this; Lilu will be suspicious. But maybe trying to make her feel special? Beautiful, and wanted? The most important person in the room? That might do the trick.
