The weakness of the flesh was too fragile, yet the temptation was too hard to resist to pass it by. He lacked strength to defend himself against the bites and the hands that roamed with far too much freedom.
It all began with an exchange of glances, in the middle of the room. Brightly lit, where the whiteness could not hide –nor reveal– the rage seething beneath the surface. It was always present in a flash of tense muscles, clenched teeth, nails scratching at fingertips. Eyes darting too quickly as they passed one another. Not even unsolved cases could distract them.

People would whisper about how repulsive they were, trying to get the upper hand over each other, whilst turning their backs on them, palms raised to hide their gossiping mouths. All they needed was a little push towards those confined rooms, where the Muffliato acted as a protective layer and the darkness as a cloak of freedom.
