🔥
The school bell rang, beginning a chorus of many students shuffling to get home. In the same crowd, Juno and Lacey went. Lacey trailing behind Juno, ranting loudly about something. If there was anything Lacey hated more than herself, it was probably her arguments with her best friend.Especially when they're for a dumb reason.

She hated seeing Juno getting mad at her, hated watching her walk off, away from her.

"Juno, come on. Don't be like that, please." She cupped both of Juno's hands in her own, trying to convince her not to stay mad at her.

"I just—need some time." Juno muttered, gently ripping herself out of the Latinas grip. She spared one last reluctant glance at Lacey.

Lacey could only watch with a defeated face as she walked off. She kicked a rock, groaning in defeat. She stared up at the sky, watching the clouds go by.

Gods damn it.

She could only walk back into the crowd, making her own way back home.

She'd fix this—in any way she knew how. She'd just have to get advice from one certain dude in her class. Don't worry, she'll be super discreet and nonchalant about it.

Her determination to stay unbothered lasted for about five seconds until she just started pouting.

"I just don't know what I'm gonna do! I just don't want her to be mad at me anymore!" She whined, talking on the phone with her friend Piper.

"Wow, you really are down bad." Piper muttered. Lacey could hear the grin in his voice and let out a loud groan. "Not in a bad way! I'm just not used to you being this whipped, I'm not complaining."

She rolled her eyes. "Just give me some advice and stop making fun of me before I hang up!" She threatened, throwing a pillow across the room. It landed on the floor beside her table, which had multiple projects on it. Lacey winced, hoping nothing broke. She had a few projects for Juno on there.

She was suddenly pulled out her thoughts as Piper spoke up again.

"Okay, okay. I'll help you win back the girl of your dreams." Piper said, lowering his tone in fake-submission. Which made Lacey sit straight up in her bed in excitement.

"First of all, she's not the girl of my dreams—sort of, and second of all, help." She muttered, her knee bouncing anxiously against the floor.

"What if you went outside her window and played music—like some sappy 80s movie?" Piper suggested, giggling at the stupid idea.

Lacey's eyes widened with ideas. That could—actually work. Maybe. Was Juno into that? It didn't matter as long as it worked. But what song? It needs to be a really really lovey song—probably an old one, since Lacey knew about Juno's love for old songs.

"Yeah, okay thanks Piper. You're the best!" Lacey grinned, moving her phone away from her ear.

"Wait you're not actually gonna—" Piper was unable to finish his sentence, Lacey hanging up in a hurry, her excitement and anxiousness blurring together to make a big ball of—something in her stomach.

Lacey stood up, suddenly gaining a lot more energy. She had a mix of excitement, anxiousness, and anticipation in her whole body, practically buzzing.

"Okay, plan make-Juno-not-mad-at-me-again is in action!" She exclaimed, tugging on her shoes and then her jacket. If she had a tail, it'd definitely be wagging right now.

Lacey pulled up Spotify on her phone, then started running out the door. She was conjuring up a plan halfway there, pulling up the perfect song.

Juno laid in her bed, sulking while munching on her favorite candy bar.She was watching her favorite show—some dumb cheesy rom-com from the early 2000s.

It seemed dumb, but Juno always dreamed of romance. Surprisingly, since she's so much in her studies often. But yeah, she often dreamed of someone with dark curls and a great personality, a gentle romance. Enough to keep her steady and enjoy herself.

Her sulking didn't last long as it was interrupted with a soft thud on her window. She assumed it was rain, but as it became more impatient, she decided to check on it.

Juno walked over to the window, recoiling back in surprise of the sight below.

There stood Lacey, phone in air, head down. Juno opened the window, and suddenly a song filled her ears.

"And I need you now tonight.. And I need you more than ever."

The singers voice came from Lacey's phone, her face flushed visibly red.

Juno could feel her own face reddening as she spoke up. "Lacey?" She peeked out the window, staring down at her.

The brunette looked up, hope glittering in her eyes. "Yes?" She sort of looked like an excited puppy when their owner shook a bag of treats.

"Come inside, it's freezing." Juno muttered, walking to the front door to let the so called puppy in.

When Juno opened the door, Lacey pounced, hugging her like her life depended on her. Her arms wrapped around her waist, squeezing her like a stuffed animal.

"Does this mean I'm forgiven now?" Lacey grinned, nuzzling her nose into Juno's neck.

"Am I allowed to say no?" Juno teased, resting her hands on Lacey's lower back.

"No." Lacey shook her head stubbornly, her grip on Juno tightening—if that was even possible.
"Then yes, you're forgiven." She said, patting her back. "Now let go before I suffocate."

She couldn't stay mad at a cute face like that forever. She could only stare at Lacey as she started rambling about how sorry she was.

"Hey, I already said I forgave you. There's no need to apologize even more." Juno promised, ruffling Lacey's hair. "How about we go up to my room and watch movies?"

"Sure! I'd like that!" Lacey grinned, already going up the stairs. "Which one's are we watching?"

"Only my favorites—duh." The blonde said, going up the stairs beside her.
