Chapter Text

"We're fucked, in case you haven't noticed yet," said Emil, tightening his grip on his boyfriend's hand. They hurried out of school, making sure none of the staff saw them.

"Possibly? I mean, you know. If you want to stay in chemistry class, the break is probably not over yet. You can come back." Leon shrugged with a neutral expression.

"Absolutely not! I hate that hag too. Don't think I'm doing this just because of you." He frowned and turned his face away.

A few seconds later, he heard Leon laugh. The sound was muffled by the scarf Emil had wrapped tightly around his neck and jaw before they left. The brunette never dressed properly - he wore his scarf loosely, kept his hands in his pockets instead of wearing gloves, and left his fur-lined jacket unzipped. Not to mention the complete lack of a hat. Whenever he arrived at school, his boyfriend would scold him because touching his hands felt like touching an ice cube.

Yeah, that's why Emil tried to dress him properly. Leon would probably be complaining about a sore throat by now if he didn't do it.

They quickly walked a few more meters, enough for the school staff to no longer see them.

"So, do you have any idea where we should go...?" Emil managed to ask when they could finally slow down. Leon always had dumb ideas that were usually immediately rejected by the blond, but this time he was given a chance. He pulled the scarf away from his jaw to finally catch a proper breath.

"Honestly... not really."

Emil frowned, disappointed.

"Always full of the dumbest ideas, except when they're actually needed." He supposedly told himself, but loud enough for the other boy to hear.

"Your choice, I'll just go along with it." As they stood face to face, Leon took a step forward and rested his head on his boyfriend's shoulder. "It's so fucking cold out. How are you even used to weather like this?" he ranted, his words now muffled by the other's shoulder.

Emil just sighed and looked forward, thinking what they could possibly spend their time on.

"I think... I have an idea." He said after a while of watching cars pass by. Leon raised his head and looked directly at him. Before he could even ask where they were going, Emil grabbed his hand and dragged him away.

[...]

They both stood next to the building with a huge sign saying "ICE RINK". Leon stared at it for a while, then looked at his boyfriend.

"You said you'll go along with anything." Emil shrugged.

He pressed his lips into a thin line.

"Uh... I've never skated in my life, AND I'm freezing. I don't think this is the best id-"

Again, he got dragged away before even finishing what he wanted to say.

They entered the building, where it was not nearly as cold inside, contrary to what he had expected. The cashier gave them a dirty look as they bought tickets, probably guessing they had skipped school.

Then they went to the ice rink, which was almost empty except for a few people. Still better than a crowded rink, though!

"How do I step onto it...?" He asked, still walking like a duck in his skates. The reason why he hadn't fallen yet was that Emil held his hand the whole way there.

"Try putting your feet in a V shape." Emil explained it as if he were talking to a kid.

"I already have enough bruises..." the brunette sighed as he did exactly what he was told. After wobbling around for a bit, he finally managed to let go of his boyfriend's hand and grab the wall as if his life depended on it. Emil couldn't help but giggle at him. Seeing him in this state was rare, yet hilarious...

"You need to lean forward a bit and bend your knees. Otherwise you're gonna fall on your ass," he said before continuing his explanation of how to skate.

"...Grab my hands again." They stood face to face. Emil was skating backwards and, when Leon grabbed his hands tightly, he began pulling him across the rink.

"You're slowly getting it," he said after a while of lecturing and dragging him around. After a while, he decided to let go so Leon could try by himself without being glued to the wall. He panicked at first, only to realize he wasn't going to die the second he stood on his own.

"Cmon, maybe you'll be able to get to the end of the rink yourself," Emil said.

Right, they were in the center of it...

The brunette sighed and began skating slowly and uncertainly toward the entrance gate of the rink. As he slowly picked up speed, the blond started skating on his own. By the time Leon finally managed to grab the gate, Emil had already completed his second lap.

"For how long have you been skating?" he asked, still holding onto the wall.

"A few years, I think." Emil stopped so abruptly that a spray of frost shot up from beneath his skate blade. "Lukas taught me a bit at the start." He admitted, trying to keep a neutral expression as he looked away.

"You just... skate around orrr..." Leon let go of the wall and slowly, but more confidently now, tried to get closer to him.

"No, like figure skating... But I'm not professional or anything! I just know a few things, that's all!" He tried making it clear.

The brunette looked him up and down.

"Yeah, I can tell," he smirked.

The moment he stopped paying attention to where he was, he slipped and fell on his back. Emil quickly leaned toward him.

"You okay?" he asked, frowning. As long as he hadn't hit his head, it wasn't that serious.

"That's what I meant! I said I didn't want any more bruises!" He tried to get up, but all he did was flail around like a fish out of water, which made the blond laugh again.

"Get on your knees first." He chuckled and eventually offered his hand so Leon had something to hold onto. What he forgot was that his boyfriend wasn't exactly lightweight, which made him fall as well.

"You jerk!" he yelled as his cheeks turned a warm shade of red, while the brunette was laughing.

They ended up one on the other, completely forgetting they were in public.

"I'm glad you two are having fun."

Lukas said, leaning against the wall.

Emil quickly stood up in shock, forgetting about his boyfriend still slipping around on the ice.

"What are you doing here?" he asked... Pretty surprised.

"I was looking through your student portal... I noticed you were missing from chemistry class, so I decided to look for you. What if you'd been kidnapped?" he said in his usual calm, neutral tone, with eyebrows high raised. "Instead, all I see is that you decided to skip school with him, your bad influence. Just so you know, your parents already know, and you're grounded. For the next week, you're coming straight home after school. Have fun. You have to be back in an hour."

As he said that, he left.

Emil sighed and turned back to the brunette, who had completely given up trying to get back on his feet.

"See? That's what I meant when I said we were fucked after all."

"And why am I a bad influence?"
