Work Text:
Jamie had been at Mars’ apartment more than his own the past couple weeks.
To be fair, it was closer to university; it was a walk from the SkyTrain, and the views from the balcony at night were some of the best of the city he’d seen since he moved.
…And he got to have sex with mars every night so… a win-win really.
Today was no different. He finished up his morning classes - no afternoon ones today, thank god – gave his friends some excuse about an assignment he had to do, picked up some more condoms, and he was back at Mars’ like he never left.
The older man was standing at the kitchen counter, his back to Jamie, scrolling on his phone. He was wearing – as per usual – a teeny-tiny cropped shirt (that Jamie was sure had some cute phrase on the front) and… jeans??
Jamie stuck his bottom lip out in a little pout, closing the door behind him and approaching Mars.
“Hey,” he said, arms wrapping around Mar’s little waist. His chin automatically rested on his shoulder. “Why are you wearing pants?”
Mars didn’t seem startled by Jamie’s approach. He always had this nonchalance to him, an effortless calm that Jamie both loved – sorry, enjoyed, in a normal, platonic, and sometimes sexual way – and hated.
“Why am I wearing pants?” Mars turned in his arms so they were face to face, his arms crossed over his chest and head already tilted. He was smirking. He knew what Jamie meant. “Did you want me waiting naked for you?”
Well… that sounded quite nice, actually.
“You know what I meant,” Jamie hummed, a little smirk tugging at his own lips. He looked down at Mars’ face, at his lips. “You know I like it when you wear shorts.”
Mars raised a delicate eyebrow. “Well, I don’t dress for you, do I?”
Jamie’s eyebrows shot up, and he felt himself grinning. Oh, Mars was in that kind of mood.
“A shame,” Jamie replied, one hand moving from Mars’ waist to land on his ass over the pants. “Shall I take them off of you, then?”
He watched Mars’ tongue peek out to wet his slips, and Jamie felt himself swallow on instinct, every nerve already alight only from his hands on him.
“Hmmm.” Mars leaned in, pushing up onto his tip toes so they were almost eye level.
His hands came up to rest on Jamie’s neck, right where he liked them.
Jamie leaned in easily, bending just so, their lips mere inches apart. He was already thinking about all the things he was going to do to him. Just a little more and-
“Sorry.” Mars stopped him with a hand on his chest and the most devastating smirk possible. He switched to English. “Not now, Jamie.”
Jamie’s eyes narrowed, finally leaving his lips to meet Marvis’ eyes.
“Oh?” he cocked his head to the side, not quite convinced this wasn’t going to go exactly how he imagined. “Playing hard to get?”
Mars huffed a laugh, his hand on his chest nudging Jamie just hard enough to push him off.
“I am hard to get.” He stated, like Jamie didn’t know that was a lie. He crossed his arms over his chest again. “But no, I’m just going shopping.”
“Shopping together?” Jamie tilted his head. It wasn’t exactly how he saw this evening panning out. He moved back into Marvis’ space with a grin. “Isn’t that a bit date-y?”
Marvis’ eyebrows shot up.
“Did I invite you?”
Jamie blinked.
“Well, I just assumed you would want me there.” He replied confidently, mostly to recover some sense of dignity. “I mean, who’s going to tell you what looks good?”
He moved his hand to Marvis’ face, thumb rubbing along the edge of his jaw, tilting it up so their eyes met properly.
“And what if you get lonely in the changing rooms?” he continued, faux concern lacing his words. “I’ll have to keep you company in there.”
He ran his thumb over his plush bottom lip, watching with rapt attention as it bounced back under his finger.
“Careful.” Marvis spoke against his thumb, and Jamie would swear he put his breedable eyes on. “You sound like a lover-boy, warrior.”
“Oii.” Jamie let out an offended noise, finally letting his hand fall and taking a step back with a frown. “Don’t compare me to Duang.”
Mars scoffed, turning around to grab his bag and keys.
“You compared yourself.” He replied easily, a little smug smile on his face. He turned back towards Jamie. “Now, are you coming?”
Jamie looked at him. “I could be.”
“Pervert.”
_________
The mall was busy for a Wednesday, people in groups of friends, still dressed in their university uniforms and laughing.
Some couples were out as well, holding hands and whispering to each other, smiling and feeding each other ice cream and other nauseating things.
Jamie sighed; he couldn’t believe he lost his friend to such a life.
Then he looked down at Mars’ hand where it swung next to him as he walked. And his own, tucked into his pockets as he strolled next to him.
He wondered how they looked. Probably like a model and his bodyguard, really.
Mars was just gorgeous. Catching the eye of every man they walked past, even those feeding their girlfriends (it’s okay, they’ll figure it out). There was something about the way he walked, the way he spoke and the way he existed that just made people look at him like they wanted to take his clothes off.
He grinned. Ha, they wish they were him. Losers.
“I want to go into this store.” Mars’ voice broke him out of his thoughts, and he realised the older was looking at him expectantly. “Do you want to stay out here?”
Jamie looked into the store Marvis was pointing at and was immediately met with a lot of glitter, lace and catchphrases like “hot girls eat ass.”
He looked down at his guns n roses shirt and cargo pants, and then back at the bustling groups of girls and guys in the store fighting over sale items. There was a lot of squealing happening.
“Yeah, I’ll stay here.” He nodded, a hand slipping out of his pocket to rest of Mars’ lower back. “Don’t take too long.”
Mars rolled his eyed. “Impatient.”
And then he was disappearing amongst the pink.
Jamie watched him go, heading directly for the baby tee section of the store. He let his eyes linger. Maybe he didn’t mind Marvis in those jeans, actually.
While he waited, he scrolled mindlessly on his phone, usually mars was pretty quick, he knew what he wanted, and Jamie was happy to just… be there, while he did his thing.
Jamie only realised Mars was taking much longer than usual when he found himself at the end of one of Duang’s fifteen minute date-with-my-boyfriend vlogs he likes to post every single fucking day of the week.
Seriously, Jamie could only see so much of him and Qin practically dry humping in the library before he got fed up.
He glanced inside the shop to see if he could spot Marvis, and lo and behold, he was still in the t-shirt section, mindlessly moving hangers as he looked through the items, and he was…
Talking to someone.
Some… guy.
An attractive guy, in fact, in a university uniform, hair slicked back and a cheesy grin plastered on his face as he obviously checked Mars out, leaning against the clothes rack and saying something to him that Jamie couldn’t quite make out.
His feet moved fast enough that his brain didn’t have time to dwell on the tight feeling of his chest, and he was suddenly walking into the shop and right up to his – friend, Marvis.
He slipped up behind Mars and wrapped one arm around his waist easily, his hand settling on the bare skin where his cropped tee left his skin exposed, and his pinkie slipping just under the waistband of his jeans.
“Hey,” he spoke, but he was looking at the guy, who was now staring back at him, something akin to shock on his face. “You’re taking so long.”
Marvis looked up at him, startled for once, obviously not expecting Jamie to enter the shop, but his shock quickly morphed into a mild amusement when he noted the tightness of Jamie’s grip on his waist.
“You’re so impatient,” he drawled, one hand coming to rest on Jamie’s chest, not even looking at the other guy anymore. Jamie puffed his chest out a little. “Can’t you see I was having a conversation?”
“Mm.” Jamies eyes finally left the guy in front of them and settled on Mars face. He mustered up the most innocent face he could. “Were you?”
Mars gave him a look, but his eyes didn’t leave Jamie’s, not even when the guy in front of them let out an awkward cough, what sounded like an apology, and promptly scurried off to probably flirt with some other twink.
“You’re being too obvious.” Mars turned fully towards him now, resting his other hand on Jamie’s chest too, and his palms were warm against his skin, even though his t-shirt. “He was just asking for my number.”
“Ah, sorry.” Jamie couldn’t have sounded more insincere, and he looked down at Mars, expectant. “Didn’t mean to ruin your chances.”
“Mm, it’s okay.” Mars looked at his own hands, now playing with a loose thread on Jamie’s shirt, he looked smug. “I was going to tell him I wasn’t interested anyway.”
Jamie nodded his head in understanding, “Ah.”
He turned his head to the side in an attempt to hide the grin that may or may not have broken out across his face at the idea of Marvis not being interested in that man because he had Jamie.
He turned his head back, expression back to serious.
“So, was he just not your type or-“
He was cut off by Marvis pulling him down by his shirt and pressing their lips together.
His eyes widened a little at being kissed so openly in public, but after a second, he realised he didn’t actually give a fuck and kissed back fervently, hands curling into Marvis’ waist and pulling him flush against his body.
It was Marvis who pulled back – after not nearly enough time, by the way – with a little smirk on his face, but Jamie was only really looking at his lips, a little pink. They looked dry, Jamie wondered I he had his slutty little chapstick with him or if he needed something else to wet them with (Jamie had more than a few ideas).
“So jealous.” Marvis whispered into the space between them, so easy to forget where they were. He switched to English in the way Jamie loved. “Are you possessive of me, Jamie?”
For a moment, Jamie just stared at him, the evil little glint in his eye, the way he caught his lip between his teeth playfully. His hands still playing with the fabric of Jamie’s shirt.
Then he realised what Mars said, and he let out a cough.
“What? Possessive?” he laughed weakly, stepping back, his hands falling from Mars wait to slip back into his pockets. “I don’t get possessive of people.”
“Uhuh.” Mars raised an eyebrow, hands landing on his own hips and Jamie wished they were his. “Sure, I forgot. You’re a warrior, right?”
Jamie hoped his face wasn’t red. It felt red.
“Exactly. The warrior fights many battles.” He puffed his chest up, grinning. “Can’t limit myself, it would be a disservice to the community.”
“Oh, for sure.” Marvis nodded, but Jamie recognised the sarcasm. “And how many battles does the warrior fight, exactly? Because, last I checked, your toothbrush is in my bathroom.”
Jamie made an affronted noise. “I can have multiple toothbrushes.”
“Right.” Mars leaned in close again, and honestly, when he looked like that who cares that they’re in public. “Except you’ve been fighting the same battle every night for the past three weeks.”
“Well…” Jamies eyes trained down mars’ body, settling on his little waist, his legs made so long by his jeans. “Some battles have to be fought… very hard… for a long time.”
“Mhm.” Mars moved his finger to rest under Jamie’s chin, gently stroking the skin there. “And are you in fighting mood?”
Jamie felt his face break out into a grin, and this time he didn’t try to hide it.
“I always am.” He leaned down to press a gentle peck to Marvis’ lush lips, finally giving in to the temptation he had been feeling all day. “Shall we go back home?”
“’Home’… that’s very comfortable, isn’t it?” Mars tilted his head. “Sounds like someone is falling in love.”
Jamie let out a groan. “Do you want to get fucked or not?”
Mars giggled, pressing a soft peck to his jaw.
“Take me home, warrior.”
