Chapter Text
Michael Vey (EC-18)
Power: Capable of emitting electricity, referred to as “pulsing,” delivering electric shocks on contact. He can also absorb electricity, including the powers of the other Glows. His electricity appears to be steadily increasing over time, granting him new powers, such as generating magnetism and creating lightning balls.
Michael is the leader and one of the founding members of the Electroclan, and appears to be the most powerful Glow. He also has Tourette’s syndrome, a neurological disorder that causes tics and other involuntary movements, which is possibly related to his electricity. After freeing his mother from the Peruvian Starxource plant—with help from the mysterious “voice”—and escaping the rat bowl, he has been taken in by the Amacarra tribe. Michael is dedicated to his family and friends, though he can be somewhat cynical and doubtful. He is in a relationship with Taylor.
Ostin Liss
Power: N/A
Ostin is Michael’s best friend and one of the founding members of the Electroclan, helping Michael break into and out of the Elgen Academy. He is highly intelligent, having an IQ of 155, the same as the average Nobel Prize winner. He boasts vast knowledge of various subjects, which has proved helpful on many occasions, though he is lacking in social skills. He appears to have feelings for McKenna.
Taylor Ridley (EC-17)
Power: Capable of scrambling synaptic connections in other people’s brains, referred to as “rebooting”, causing confusion and disorientation. She is also able to read minds via contact or conduction.
Taylor is Michael’s girlfriend and one of the founding members of the Electroclan. She was captured by the Elgen and broken out by Michael and his friends. She is kind, but that doesn’t mean she won’t fight back or scold others when necessary.
Jack Vranes
Power: N/A
Jack was originally one of Michael’s bullies before being shocked by him in retaliation. After Michael asked for his help getting to Pasadena to rescue his mother, he became a loyal member. Despite not having powers, Jack is very strong and a capable close-quarters fighter, often being the team’s main combatant, alongside Zeus. He is also knowledgeable about cars and other road vehicles. The only thing greater than Jack’s strength is his loyalty, especially to his best friend Wade, and he will throw himself into danger to protect his friends. He appears to have feelings for Abigail.
Wade West
Power: N/A
Wade is Jack’s best friend and was one of Michael’s bullies before being shocked by him in retaliation. He accompanied Michael, Jack, and Ostin to Pasadena, becoming a member of the Electroclan. Wade isn’t the most intelligent and is a bit of a coward, but he is very loyal to Jack, assisting him in physical fights.
Zeus (EC-05)
Power: Capable of shooting electricity from his hands like lightning. His electricity gathers outside of his body, causing Zeus to shock himself if he touches water.
Real name Leonard Frank Smith, Zeus was kidnapped, raised, and given his nickname by the Elgen when he was young, who also manipulated him into believing he had killed his own family. He helped kidnap Michael’s mother, but after being defeated by him at the Elgen Academy and having Hatch’s manipulation removed, he joined the Electroclan and helped them escape. Zeus is one of the Electroclan’s best fighters, alongside his good friend Jack, but he has a bit of a temper. He appears to have feelings for Abigail.
Ian Murray (EC-14)
Power: Capable of seeing via electrolocation, allowing him to see through solid objects.
Ian was kidnapped by the Elgen when he was young, but was imprisoned in Purgatory when he refused to follow them. Three years later, he was freed by the Electroclan, leading to him becoming a member. Ian is blind, though his powers allow him to see better than any human, which, along with his composed and cool-headed temperament, makes him a useful scout.
McKenna Wang (EC-15)
Power: Capable of emitting light and heat. Overuse leads to dehydration.
McKenna was kidnapped by the Elgen when she was young, but was imprisoned in Purgatory when she refused to follow them. Three years later, she was freed by the Electroclan, leading to her becoming a member. She is headstrong and will not hesitate to use her versatile powers when necessary. She appears to be reciprocating Ostin’s feelings for her.
Abigail Shelly (EC-16)
Power: Capable of temporarily taking away pain via electrical nerve stimulation.
Abigail was kidnapped by the Elgen when she was young, but was imprisoned in Purgatory when she refused to follow them. Three years later, she was freed by the Electroclan, leading to her becoming a member. A truly kind soul, Abi is always there to help her friends if they are in pain, no matter how much she exerts herself to do so.
Tanner Williams (EC-11)
Power: Capable of generating electromagnetic interference. These powers have been rigorously trained to specifically target aircraft, causing them to crash.
Tanner attended the Elgen Academy when he was young. Forced to crash planes for years, the stress took a serious toll on his mind, leading to him attempting to crash the Elgen jet transporting Hatch and the Glows to Peru, resulting in his imprisonment at the Peruvian Starxource plant. He was freed by the Electroclan, leading to him joining. Tanner suffers from terrible guilt and trauma, though he tries to hide it with a laid-back, joking persona. Before his imprisonment, he spent most of his time with Oliver and Grace.
Grace Clarke (EC-13)
Power: Capable of downloading and uploading electronic data, akin to a flash drive.
Grace attended the Elgen Academy when she was young, though she hated living with Hatch. When the Electroclan broke out of the academy, Grace secretly downloaded the academy’s mainframe and offered her services to them. She is currently under the protection of the resistance. Grace is quite shy, spending most of her time either alone or with her friends Oliver and Tanner before her escape.
Quentin Carrington (EC-03)
Power: Capable of generating a localized electromagnetic pulse.
Quentin has attended the Elgen Academy since he was young, and serves as the de facto leader of the Elgen Glows. He is charismatic and confident, but can be overbearing on his peers, much to the displeasure of Oliver. He appears to have feelings for Tara and has a slight rivalry with Torstyn.
Tara Rogers (EC-07)
Power: Capable of manipulating emotions by electrically stimulating various parts of the brain.
Tara is Taylor’s twin sister, though the two were separated when they were adopted by different families. She has attended the Elgen Academy since she was young, and Hatch became her guardian after her parents perished in a house fire. Tara loves shopping with Kylee, and, despite her demeanor, her powers can make her a frightening enemy. She appears to have feelings for Quentin.
Bryan Gonzalez (EC-08)
Power: Capable of emitting highly focused electricity, akin to a laser, allowing him to cut through objects, particularly metal.
Bryan has attended the Elgen Academy since he was young. He tends to acts immaturely, so most of the other Elgen Glows have little respect for him, though they still consider him a friend. He often quarrels with Kylee.
Kylee Maxwell (EC-09)
Power: Capable of generating and manipulating magnetic fields.
Kylee has attended the Elgen Academy since she was young. Like her best friend Tara, Kylee loves shopping. Before attending the academy, her mother made her participate in beauty pageants, leading her to be obsessed with her appearance. She quarrels often with Bryan.
Oliver Matthews (EC-04)
Power: Capable of emitting signals that allow him to manipulate and block electric currents, particularly those within machines. He can also sense sources of electricity.
Oliver has attended the Elgen Academy since he was young, with his powers often being used to cover the Elgen’s tracks on their clandestine operations. He is quite abrasive, often acting sarcastic and rude to the other Elgen Glows, which has been made worse after his only two friends, Grace and Tanner, left the Elgen, although he and Torstyn have a mutual respect for each other. Unlike the other Glows, he harbored no ill will towards Nichelle. Oliver is intelligent and very knowledgeable about technology, allowing him to use his extremely versatile powers to their fullest extent.
Torstyn Spencer (EC-10)
Power: Capable of generating microwave radiation, allowing him to heat up and burn many things, especially living organisms.
Torstyn has attended the Elgen Academy since he was young. Unlike most of the other Elgen Glows, Torstyn has spent nearly two years in Peru assisting with the country’s Starxource plant, though he spent most of that time hunting in the jungle with his powers. He joined up with the rest of the Glows upon their arrival in Peru. Torstyn is ruthless and competitive, leading to a rivalry with Quentin, though he has a mutual respect for Oliver.
Nichelle Harris (EC-01)
Power: Capable of sensing, absorbing and dissipating electricity from other sources. She can even absorb electricity from other Glows, which causes them severe pain. Uniquely, she is the only Glow who doesn’t glow.
Nichelle was kidnapped and raised by the Elgen when she was young, mainly being used as a method of punishing the other Glows when they disobeyed Hatch. She was later abandoned by him after she failed to subdue Michael during the Electroclan’s breakout of the academy, and her whereabouts are currently unknown. Due to her punishments dealt to the other Glows, they all hated her, and she despised them in return. The only exception is Oliver, who is the only one she seemed to tolerate.
