Work Text:
”Were you ever going to tell me?”
White ashes swirled down. The wind carried many sounds, but most noticeable was the agonizing cries of one. Kneeling above a body, in his own cold hands, clasping even colder hands, he wept. “If I hadn’t found you like this, were you ever going to tell me?”
“Would you have kept me in the dark, expecting me to wait for you, unaware that you had per..” He couldn’t finish his sentence, nor the thought.
“I’m sorry.” Those were the last words he heard from him, and now he lay here. His body in shambles, and for what? A world that didn’t deserve saving?
If only he’d been more against him not going, then this wouldn’t have happened. In search of a potion, his fingers desperately rumbled through his inventory. When he’d found one, he quickly poured it all over him, praying for it to work. “Please.”
It didn’t take effect. J still looked as pale as before. Sa-young didn’t want to admit it. He couldn’t. Because if J was de-. He couldn’t. He wouldn’t.
“Someone, please.” Sa-young had never begged, never been this desperate in his life as now. What he would give up to start anew. He’d waited for so long, and now J was... he was…
He was.
If only he’d stopped him from going to that dungeon. He should have begged, cried or even… But deep down even Sa-young knew. J had never been meant to be saved.
He’d known, he’d known that J had been ailing, yet deep down he liked it. After all, it was the only moment where the ever so strong J relied on him, so how could he not? Ugly thoughts like these disgusted him, and he’d feared if J found out, he’d hate him, but now he’d even welcome that, if only he could hear his voice again.
For that, he was prepared to suffer.
