Bellus incultas is an original fantasy world that is currently a huge work in progress!
For now i want to add the key details of the world building and maybe some links to other media ive included for this project, such as a spotify playlist! Feel free to comment on any of the current ideas or something you think could be added on to better expand this!

“The overgrown beauty”
Major world building factors:
- many new and old creatures evolved and merged into “human-like” species, leading to many old languages being lost. Now most new languages are translated through the common tongue, which is similar to a mix of old latin and roman language
- a “regular human race” does not exist in this world, as all the planets somewhat human species was not simply human to begin with, but spirit born entities that resembled them. These spirits easily soaked up the souls and life forces of others species. Thus, the modern races include the unmerged spirt race, creating a “human-looking” species.
- a post apocalyptic utopian world, where over 5000 years ago the “numen” (noom-en), commonly related to gods, went to war against a greedy, power-hungry mana entity known as “ira”(eer-ah). More commonly spoken of as the “wilting blood”. The numen fought for the world’s protection, ultimately annihilating ira along with themselves.
- Throughout the world’s regions, enormous and towering statues seem to resemble each of the 10 numen. These were in-fact the true numen from 5000 years ago, however in their painstaking battle they put their own spirits to rest to ensure ira will never be reborn.
- the numen also “gave birth” to or created the susurri, commonly referred to as the ancestors whispers. These can be commonly related to demigods and spiritual deities, as they are beings that cared for certain places, civilizations and ideals they related to. The number of susurri created in the past is unknown, however it is still common to see shrines and statues for the more well known susurri. Although their statues are also larger in size, they are no where near the size of the numens corpses, and are all handmade.
- the numens “statues” or corpses are sacred to all races, many of the worlds largest cities being built around the ones we know the locations of, which includes 7 of them. Many pilgrimage just to hold their hand to the engraved heart of the numen, as these “hearts” are infact insanely large, mana infused gems. They are known to cure illness, bring prosperity to those in need, keep the lands rich and even grant mana to those without if their soul is pure.
- This world is infact a pure utopia, as it as seen as taboo to ever forsake the numens efforts in granting the world a beautiful and prosperous life for all. Crimes are brought directly to the numens hearts, where the spirits erase the bad intents that led to said crime as a way to give them a fresh start. These opportunities have led to minimal crime rates and almost no ill intent or discrimination throughout the land.
- there are also little to no imbalances in power, as those granted more mana at birth are said to be gifted by the numens to impower and help others without. Currency varies between regions, however it is more common practice to trade instead. Many potions, remedies, and mana infused spells are highly sought after. Spirit infused gates grant easy passage to different regions big cities. Travelers and nomads are very common, as alot of the post apocalyptic world has been unexplored.
- many species that didnt evolve or merge and remain less “human-like” are very protected and well cared for by their communities, as many believe the numens granted them the gift of caring for these creatures in their stead. Each region has a multitude of regional unmerged species, and many have been domesticated for travel purposes. Even then, undomesticated creatures are rarely hostile for no reason.
- Bellus’s landscape is all greatly oversized, as the planet was originally only home to the numens, who then brought this worlds humanity into existence, which then merged to the races of the modern age. Because of this, alot of even the big cities can be called “overgrown” or “rural”, as their idea of modern is still vastly different from ours. Technology does not exist and without the needed circumstances never will in this world, meaning many of their “new” inventions include more mana induced states and raw materials to function.
