Summary:

Feofan has been smoking again.

Zandik has tried to chastise Feofan and hide his cigarettes (he tosses them to the trash can), but it’s pointless because that rich man would just buy more.

Now Zandik is checking up on Feofan’s health. He really doesn’t get it. After he went to the trouble of replacing Feofan’s lungs for him, Feofan is still so eager ruining his lungs like this. It’s like he’s saying Zandik can always get him new lungs any time, hence, he can smoke as much as he wants. Don’t mess with him!

“Or don’t tell me you’re doing it on purpose to make me worry and be taken care of? Is that it?” asks Zandik.

And then, there Feofan is, gaze averted to the side as if it were true.

Dottore discovers the reason why Pantalone still smokes.

Work Text:

Zandik’s eyes narrow: he thinks he knows where this is going. “Is that it?”

A visible sweat can be seen dropping on Feofan’s face, almost like he’s panicking because Zandik saw right through him.

That irritates Zandik a little and he proceeds to force a smile. “Hm? So that’s the reason? You want me to worry and be taken care of? Acting so spoiled, I see... Fucking adorable, aren’t you?”

Feofan continues to avert his gaze, probably feeling guilty now that he’s caught red-handed.

“If you keep on smoking, I won’t let you kiss me anymore. You know how much I hate when you reek of cigarettes. I’d rather kiss another man,” Zandik pouts slightly before walking away to take his leave.

But Zandik doesn’t get to go far with Feofan immediately halting him as he grabs Zandik’s wrist from his seat. His grip is so strong, as though he’s not allowing Zandik to go to another man.

“What?” Zandik scowls in disbelief.

“Sorry, I’ll quit smoking so don’t go to another man…” Feofan apologizes, his tone desperate and eyes on the floor. He looks like a sad puppy that Zandik just can’t bring himself to be mad for so long. It feels like there are dog ears drooping on the top of Feofan’s head.

A sigh leaves Zandik’s lips. “I’ve kept you alive for 400 years and you still have the audacity to think you need to smoke for me to care,” he pauses for a bit. “You know I’ll always care,” then he murmurs because this isn’t something he would say but when it comes to Feofan, it’s an exception.

True to his words, Feofan has stopped smoking ever since.
