Work Text:
The way the rain felt on her skin. She'd almost never felt the rain. She was too caught up in everything. Her partner, however, was the opposite. She was a pirate before the incident. She was practically outdoors all the years she was still just a pirate, being able to feel the rain when it ever did. But when the captain died, she had to become the new captain.
They both had to struggle with the death of someone they loved deeply. They helped each other through the pain, the grief, the sorrow, everything. They had each other forever.
The rain reminded her of her childhood, when her father took her out to play in the rain. She missed The Heights despite it being where they were.
>"Calypso?"
>"Hm?"
>"Let's go outside!"
>"You know, get some fresh air?"
>"Of course!"
The two went outside, and Cassie danced in the rain with her eyes closed. She looked like she could burst into tears any moment now.
>'Is she.. about to cry?'
Calypso ran to Cassie and gave her a hug from behind. Cassie's eyes widened in surprise, but she let out a sigh of relief when she saw it was just Calypso. She hugged her back and closed her eyes for a second.
>"Why don't we both dance, Cass?"
>"I'd love to."
And so they danced, unbothered by the rain getting them wet. It was just them in their zone. Together. Forever.
