Work Text:
“Oh Kevin, you didn’t have to dress up…” Jakob starts. He’s forgotten what he walked into their bedroom for, Kevin’s shape in that 3 piece suit distracting his already memory deficient mind.
“Of course I did,” Kevin says as he smooths down his already perfected blazer. He turns to face Jakob, smiling, “it’s our date night!”
“Kevin…” Jakob starts. He suddenly feels way under dressed. Embarrassingly so. He looks Kevin up and down one more time intending to note of at least the colour of his shirt, or matching tie, in the hopes of finding something to compliment Kevin in his own wardrobe. He doesn’t register the colour of anything Kevin’s wearing, because once his eyes reach Kevin’s face Kevin gifts him a wide, bright smile, and raises his eyebrows. Jakob feels his heart melting, much like the words on the tip of his tongue.
“I-I… Can undress,” he starts, fumbling for the words he actually wants. Looking down in a silly attempt to hide the blush he feels warming his cheeks, he continues, “If you’d prefer…?”
Kevin’s grins grows as he travels the short distance between them, “I would!”
“Oh…” Jakob starts. He looks up at Kevin who begins to wrap Jakob into a hug. “Oh,” he says again as he finally registers Kevin’s suggestive eyebrow raise, and smirk. “You’re such a smooth talker!” he giggles as he allows himself to melt into Kevin.
Kevin laughs, “You love it!”
“I do!” Jakob confirms, grinning. He lifts his head, settling it on Kevin’s shoulder as he continues, “...I love your kisses too!” he grins, “Can I have one?”
“Always,” Kevin smiles, and he moves to connect their lips.
Jakob’s lung fill with Kevin’s sweet flavoured, coffee scented breath: a combination he’ll never tire off.
“I’ll go change,” Jakob says breathlessly, when he pulls back. And he tries to free himself from Kevin’s arms.
Kevin’s grip tightens, “Oh no you don’t, Mister!” Jakob’s eyes are wild, his face displays confusion, as his mouth tries to form a protest while his mind is lost in Kevin’s gaze. Kevin leans forward and kisses his forehead, “I like the way you’re dressed now-”
Jakob’s protest comes in mumbles as he battles his love for Kevin’s words, the sentiment behind them, how it’s just so Kevin of him to say that, and mean it, with his embarrassment of dressing like a tramp by Kevin’s elegant, posed figure, in his perfectly styled suit.
Kevin ignores his mumbles, “-I love you just the way you are!” he says, and bops Jakob on the nose. Jakob’s dazed expression makes him chuckle. He pulls Jakob into another hug. Jakob’s mouth stops its repeated opening and closing and he allows himself to melt into Kevin.
Kevin will never stop making him swoon. Even in their most trivial, mundane moments. He thinks he loves Kevin just the way he is, and he should tell him that more. But first, he’s going to bask in the never-ending love Kevin pours on him.
