Now sure, the gods have had their fair share of being thrown around into random places along with other random bullshit but this is genuinely strange, going from being in the desert sands to a forest with a strange town in front of all of them, Hathor is genuinely worried about where they are, this place isn't normal, this place is WRONG! The trees are thick, the paths are swallowed by the woods, crows look down at them from their tree perches, haunting yet calming music comes from the town, it seems strange to them, unfamiliar even, there are no words, just the sound of strings and...bone, though it does seem that dead animals are common around these areas, there's hardly anything alive left here, even a few human-looking corpses around.
This place is new, unfamiliar, unsettling...and Anubis is just petting one of the wolves...yeah that was expected, or well Seth expected that. Sekhmet ventured forward a bit until she got close enough to the town to see what the noise was, which the noise was coming from two people holding...uh something...she didn't know what they were but she knew that the things were made from wood, and the one the girl was holding had some sort of skull on it, it wasn't human, probably some sort of animal. Eventually everyone followed, or well Osiris tried to but got caught in a bear trap, Seth was definitely contemplating on leaving him there, so was Anubis and Horus, I mean no one exactly currently wanted to be around him, it only made sense, but also everyone needed to stay together so Isis went and freed him, because she knew no one else would willingly do it.
When they got closer to the two people playing music the girl, or woman, hard to tell her age from this far, spoke up to the boy.
Currently unknown lady: "alright kid, lunch break, we can't go all day without food, alright"
They head a simple mumbled response before they see the lady walk off to a nearby garden. Now yes, Hathor was mildly curious and may have decided to go check things out, Isis followed behind her just in case this lady was violent or well anything of the sort, and they wouldn't blame her if she was, this place looks decent during the day, they can only imagine what it's like at night, or maybe they shouldn't.
The lady perked up at the sound of rustling, she froze, but she waited for the sound to get closer, she identified if something was a threat or not based on the footsteps, those creatures, the savages, they move fast, but these footsteps are slow, cautiously slow, which she didn't currently perceive as a threat. She slowly turned around then stopped again - why was there fucking beautiful women here, she couldn't tell if this is currently heaven or hell, and when she heard a distant scream she could tell it this was still a living hell...how joyful...and she was kinda hoping they wouldn't talk to her but that hope was almost instantaneously shattered. At least it was simple questions like "who are you?", "what is this place", and "what's wrong with this place". In which the lady responded "I am Vyxen and this is just a little corner town to this hell hole, nothing much, but uh as far as I'm aware something is wrong with the trees and there are these things that look human but are pretty violent, most just call them savages, because that's what they are technically speaking." well that answer was all they needed, and they just calmly walked away, Vyxen has never seen anyone so calm in this place, but she didn't exactly mind, it was better than an insane person.
Vyxen quite literally just goes back to gathering potatoes, carrots, and basically any other vegetable that would work good in soup, maybe corn? She simply gathers well more than enough, she doesn't know if the two women who showed up would come back with more people so it was just a precaution, plus it's been a while since she's made food for someone other than herself and the musician kid. While she's carrying her basket back she sees just a whole group of people and the same two women from earlier, that's a lot more folks than she expected, but then again it could be way worse, literally. She makes it back to the kid and he's already helped put fire wood in the small makeshift fire pit that they have, which she was glad he tried to help, and she did have a whole collection of matches, so she took out a box, lit a match, and threw it into the pit, which was enough for a fire to get going.
Minutes passed, a stand was set up to hold a pot over the fire, Vyxen chopping the vegetables she gathered, she was smart enough to not touch the mushrooms, she's seen what they can do, but she shakes that from her mind and keeps chopping, the knife is not too dull, but she'll have to sharpen it for tonight. The kid goes back to practicing on the makeshift violin he owns, he normally played the same thing once he found out how to play a song, which that song was calming enough that you didn't mind, you even hummed along to it since you knew the lyrics (btw the song is Sydney by Caravan Palace, it's very calming in my opinion). But a window from the nearby house opened, that dammed crazy chicken lady, yelling at us to shut up, but I just looked at the kid, he looked at me, and he started playing louder as I hummed louder, there was a nearby deep chuckle of amusement (probably Seth), at least someone found this shit as entertaining as they did, just mild musical chaos.
