You Better Lay Down ('Cause The Angels Are Watching)

Summary:

Thanos didn't have much to live for, did he? No. He didn't have anything to live for. So he should really just follow his mom's advice.

He steps over the railings and just sits there for a minute, staring at the sunset. Truly beautiful, no? This being his last sight actually isn't that bad, or so he thinks.

He stands up to finally let himself fall, wneing everything. He opens his necklace one more time to take out 3 pills, chugging them down quickly, just to insure it'll actually kill him. He didn't eat nor drink much, so the drugs get to his bloodstream quite quickly, almost making him pass out.

He closes his eyes and let's himself fall forward.

As he opened his eyes again, he was sitting somewhere, with someone standing over him.

An angel? Yeah, that must be it. An angel. He was finally dead. But.. Do angels yell at you?

"Hello?? You there??" The angel yells at him, waving their hand in front of his face.

"Yeah..?" He replied groggily, his voice breaking after just one word.

Or

Thanos tries to kill himself but Namgyu saves him and takes him in.

Chapter 1: Do Angels Yell At You?

Chapter Text

"Choi Su-bong. Get down here!" Thanos heard his mother yell, waking him up. Hearing her yell his full name was never a good sign.

He gulps and yells back: "Yeah! I'm coming!" He quickly put on one of the shirts laying on his bed and runs down the stairs to the living room, where he found his mom sitting with a quite unreadable expression, though it sure wasn't a happy one.

"..What is it?" He quickly asked as he noticed his mom was just staring at him.

"Get out."

"What?"

"I'm throwing you out. You're not helping here. Go kill yourself for all I care. You have 10 minutes to get out." She answered in the most monotone voice he's ever heard, as if he's a dead mouse on the street and not her own blood and flesh.

Thanos' eyes widened. He knew his mom and him didn't have the best relationship, but this? This was unexpected. After just staring at her for a good 10 seconds, he looked down at the floor and nodded. Then he quickly went up to his room to gather his stuff.

He didn't own a lot of stuff he could take with him in the first place. Necessities, a phone and headphones. He didn't even own a suit case, at that. Only a small backpack he has had since he was 14. It barely fit his stuff; a toothbrush, some clothes, a hair brush and his headphones. He also took his phone with him, but he just left that in his hand.

And, of course, the most important thing he owned. His necklace.

As soon as he finished packing, the 10 minutes were already over, so he hurried down and looked at his mom's, now hateful, face one last time before opening the door and walking out.

And that's how he ends up at the nearest bridge.

"Go kill yourself for all I care" , huh?

He might as well just do what his mom said. How ironic, the first time he ever listened to his mom will also be the last.

He steps over the railings and just sits there for a minute, staring at the sunset. Truly beautiful, no? This being his last sight actually isn't that bad, or so he thinks.

The gentle wind play around with his purple hair, almost as if its caressing it. Sad to think this is the most gentle touch he's ever felt, no?

He stands up to finally let himself fall, ending everything. He opens his necklace one more time to take out 3 pills, chugging them down quickly, just to ensure it'll actually kill him.

The angel sighs in relief and sits down in front of him. Thanos could now see the angel up close. Wow, angels really are as beautiful as the stories make them seem to be.

".. Am I dead? Are you an angel..?"  Thanos mumbles quietly, trying to stand up, but failing miserably.

"No. You're not dead, and I'm not an angel." The, well, not-angel, answered. The 'not angel' takes Thanos right hand and put their finger on it.

"You're hearts bearing quite fast, did ya take anything?" They ask.

"Uh.. I think so..? But, how am I alive?" Thanos questions, putting his hands on his head. His head was buzzing hard, he did probably take something, but he can't remember a single thing—no, wait. He got kicked out and tried to.. End it.

"I saw you trying to jump down here, but I grabbed you in time. That's how you're alive. Ive been trying to wake you for like an hour now, you've been out cold." They, or he, Thanos assumed, explains.

"Well, sorry for bothering you for so long.." Great, he has ruined yet another's person day by just existing. Killing himself was the best thing he could've done, since he's just a burden anyway. Or so he thinks. "Uh.. What's your name?"

"..It's Nam-gyu. And yours Thanos, I assume? It says that on your backpack." The not-angel—Nam-gyu—replied.

Thanos nods. Well, it's not his actual name, but he prefers Thanos anyway.

"Well, where do you live? I can bring you home, since I doubt you can get there yourself."

Thanos just stares at Nam-gyu for a second. Right, he is technically homeless now, no?

"Uh.. Well.. I don't live anywhere." Thanos mumbles.

"You're homeless?" Nam-gyu asks.

"Technically, yeah. Just got kicked out I think." Thanos replies, averting his gaze.

Nam-gyu isn't one to help people, but with Thanos it's... different? Before Nam-gyu could think more, he proposes an idea. "You can stay at mine, if you want."

Thanos blinks a few times. Did he actually mean that? Wow, maybe he really is an angel.

"Eh? You don't even know me, why would u do that?" Thanos mumbles, still kind of too out of it to genuinely think about it.

Nam-gyu stays silent, because, honestly, he didn't know either. Why is he doing this? Why is he helping? He doesn't know. Then he sighs. "Yes or no, I can also just go otherwise." He mutters, standing up, but he feels a hand reaching up to grab his shirt.

"No, wait!" Thanos exclaims, or well, tries to exclaim, but it comes out as more of an obnoxiously loud whisper. In that moment, Thanos hates himself more than before. Why is he wasting yet another's person's time with his problems? Why isn't he just telling Nam-gyu that it's okay and that he can go alone, and then jump again when no ones there to stop him anymore? All these questions, but no answer. Because how would someone answer a question they asked themselves?

"Let me come with you..." Thanos mumbles, still holding onto the angel's, Nam-gyu's, shirt. Why is he being like this? So pathetic in front of someone he barely knows the name of? How is Nam-gyu different from all the other people he's met?

"If you'll stop gripping my shirt then?" Nam-gyu jokes, trying to lighten the mood, but Thanos seems to not get the fact it's a joke, so he quickly jerks back his hand.
